You're right, letting her continue to eat as much as she wants and continue to overeat while giving her more video games and more stuff that she can just sit around the house with is totally the right way to go! NO, that's not how it works. If she wants to lose weight, she needs to start practicing portion control and healthy eating, and needs to be active.

What mom doesn't know won't hurt her. You have to register on the account I'm pretty sure, and people leave reviews, and sometimes it's good to have a journey. Unfortunately we're not near that area otherwise we'd put you up for a while. And might I suggest selling the PSP? Put the money in a jar and save it for the trip. Give up soda, alcohol, and anything that isn't water or tea (tea bags are cheapest I believe). Don't completely stop treating yourself, but when you eat out look for places that have specials and just get water with your meal, don't upgrade. Walk everywhere you can, take a car only if necessary. When you shop, buy what's cheapest per ounce, but make sure it's something you'll actually use all of (if you're not big on ketchup, don't buy the family size just because it's cheapest per ounce, but if you go through turkey like it's going out of style then get the bigger packs that are cheaper per ounce). Save EVERYWHERE that you can, and put the difference into a piggy bank or savings jar. Just get enough for a bus ticket, and an extra $300 or so, that way you can still go out and do stuff while you're there and have an emergency fund.

Just really lock this down and go for it. Decide you're going to do it and make this your daily goal to save an extra $0.50 here and $1 there and it will add up quick.

Yeah no problem, you were right, and grandmaofmany was wrong. This is not the way to raise children, you are not supposed to encourage self destructive behavior. Plus, she is misleading in saying the "little girl" she "babysits" when it is a 15yr old kid. She makes it sound like she is 10 or younger, when she's actually old enough to have a job, a learners permit, and be babysitting for others over night. In some countries she would be done with high school and starting college within a year. She is not a little kid with no sense of how to fix this.

Oh god, is that her? I remember this post from a while back. She does NOT need video games. I am not a "little" girl, I am not thin, but I love myself and I recognize it. Being fat is not an excuse to have a fucking pity party for yourself. If you're happy with yourself, then by all means be happy. If you're not, do something about it. This girl has already gotten tons of free stuff from reddit and doesn't need more stuff to keep her sitting on the couch. People who are fat are not incapable of making friends, it is her mind set that put her there, and I know because I was there in early high school until one day I just decided it was bullshit. I am perfectly capable of making friends, so now rather than being self conscious I'm just happy, and this is what she needs to do.

She should definitely not get it, she needs to be outside and be active. She is a child, do not let her eat whenever or whatever she wants, she is a child and needs discipline. Giving her something to occupy her time while she continues to sit and do nothing is not good for her and will be absolutely no help in the long run.

Oh the irony! "small" town doesn't mean 300 people, it can mean 3,000 or 13,000 or much more, depending on what it's being compared to. And I went to a high school with ~700 students freshman-senior, including the students in night/online classes, and even though everyone knew everyone it wasnt all magical and peachy just because we all knew each other. People are assholes everywhere, and although I am not saying that you are wrong without a doubt, since you do not know these people you shouldn't be so certain that they're all sweet and fantastic and shit rainbows either.

A friend of mine is basically the middle man and does this, sort of like a Mary Kay type of thing. In every state they are allowed to accept returns for up to 90 days, because they only do business with companies that have warranties. Your company still sucks for not taking the time to work with good vendors.
