Then what the fuck is the intial post about? Why is Rein running around deleting posts that include description of the exact location?

That was meant to imply that no one cares to do it (as in surfers). Seriously, why? What's the point? It's no secret where waves happen.

If it is so easy, then why do you care if people point them out?

I care about it being pointed out because the less crowds the better. That's not localism, that's society. I don't fight the crowds, I'm just omitting info to keep them from happening. That is in no way hurting anyone.

Totally agree. The polarization between the vets and amateurs is old news. I feel as though the amateurs see us as trying to fight off newcomers, when in fact we just want them to realize the equal playing field that is exploration. Locals exist, but that war of vets is a whole 'nother discussion.

As I stated in another thread, where the land meets the ocean, there are waves. In San Diego and LA alike, you can scale the coast in half a day. Yea, us weathered surfers would prefer there not be exact directions, but honestly, go find that shit yourself. That's what we do. That's the beauty of surfing and the beauty of the west coast.

By the way, this post makes it abundantly clear that a majority of surfers here don't ascribe to the localism bullshit you are preaching.

EDIT: No one (as in surfers) care to give exact directions to a spot. It's just stupid. No one has ever done that for me, and it's never crossed my mind to do it for anyone else. It's always been part of surfing to analyze the geography and weather and figure that shit out yourself.

Such a timely post. This can be downvoted plenty we'll still all see it. IMO I don't agree with this. You can scale San Diego's coast in less than half a day. Where ocean meets land, there's waves. Go find it yourself.

The guy just said that everyone here is Giants>Chargers and when I called him out he tried to play it off as sarcasm. He then maintained that stance but he really was just being an ass. Now that he deleted it all I almost feel bad :(
