My husband is the same way. We had to travel for work yesterday, mothers day, which meant a lot of work. we have two kids and another on the way. I'm 12 weeks and am having a high-risk pregnancy (bleeding and cramping for the last couple months). Saturday I packed mine and the kids clothes, toiletries, toys for the kids, the stuff I wanted. I cleaned the kitchen, the den, did the laundry, cleaned out the car. Hubby did shit. I went to bed at 10, saying "I'm beat". he said "NOW!? we have so much to do!" I said "WE?" and went to bed. next morning I finished packing up food, more cleaning etc. he put the suitcase in the trunk because I can't do any heaving lifting (not supposed to be doing much of anything, really). Kids and I were waiting in the car for 20 minutes... ready to go, while he finally threw his shit together. We missed the god damned ferry thanks to him. I asked him SEVERAL times to help, and he just looked at me like "with what?" like I was doing nothing. FURIOUS. At the hotel, I once again did everything but the lifting. unpacked, made the kids pull out bed, made dinner, went to the grocery store. Got looked at funny when I said I was going to bed at 9pm. I'm used to doing everything but you know? i'm pregnant and am supposed to be on light bed rest AND it was mothers day. fuck that noise.

My daughters name is Alison. My son pronounces it "assin" or "ass" for short. He'll yell at her for something. So every so often, he'll want her to hold something. "ASS! HOLE!"

Late to the game, but when I was pregnant with my daughter 7 years ago, I watched this episode for the first time, and no joke, I cried for a week. I'd be standing at the sink doing the dishes and I'd think about it and start crying. My husband would say "hey, what's wrong?" I'd say "I don't wanna tell you!" "It's seymour again, isn't it" "UH HUH!" bawl

What easily avoidable fees have you encountered? My latest: Shitty shoe fee, $2 by qwendain Frugal

[–]Chowderhead1 19 points20 points ago

Student Fees. You do NOT have to pay student fees in jr. high/high school. Education is supposed to be free (up to grade 12). The majority of parents just pay the $30 fee, but that is bullshit. Some schools will try to tell you that you can't do certain things (like order a yearbook - seriously) if you don't pay your student fees. They can not do that. Period.

AskReddit, if you don't live at home anymore, how often do you talk to your parents? by N00blet87in AskReddit

Almost daily. Wasn't close with them when I lived with them (I left when I was 16 because I couldn't stand living with them), but we are now.

She bought herself a new DVD player (with maximum service plan lol), some movies, and new headphones for her MP3 player. This was after the kid stormed out when she said she was going to buy everything from me.

And yeah, after that, I sure hope that she grew some balls and stopped putting up with his shit.

Sort of along the lines... I was working at Future Shop over xmas a few years back. Mom and son come in, she's getting his present early and would like me to help her out with the best deals/games etc because she doesn't know anything about it. So I'm showing her the GBA SP's, the features, the games etc. She's really nice, appreciates the help etc. The kid is about 16 or so, and every time the mom asks me a question, he gets all impatient and says "GOD mom... I already told you all of this. Fuck". She doesn't say anything, so I just ignore him. His attitude the entire time was SO ridiculous. She's in tehre buying him over $200 worth of stuff, wants to know about what she's buying, and he's being a complete dick to her the entire time. Finally, after about 20 minutes of this, I said something about the service plan, she says she always gets it on things like this, and the kid says "Which is fucking retarded" and i snapped. I said straight to his face "Good lord kid, you're mom is here buying you all this stuff and THIS is how you treat her? And by the way, it's not "retarded"... by brother is retarded and is a million times more grateful than you for every little things he gets. Grow up." He looked at me stunned, the mom looked at me like "wow. that was great". Kid finally musters up "Don't buy from this bitch, mom". Mom says "Are you kidding me? i'm buying EVERYTHING from her from now on." She ended up spending the $200+ on herself. :D

I was raped when I was 14. I went straight to the police afterwards, while still in shock. After going through the ropes of hospital visit, forced immunizations "just in case", meeting with the police numerous times etc etc etc, I was told after all of this that they couldn't press charges because I didn't say "no" (I was in shock from the first second and froze). They said they talked with the guy and he thought it was consensual and that he "seems like a nice guy".

The man who raped me "seems like a nice guy".

His charm (which is what made me trust him in the first place) got him out of it. BTW... I was 14 and he was 27. 14 was the age of consent at the time, so I couldn't even get him for stat rape.

Christmas day, phone rings. Hey Jesse! Merry christmas! having fun at your dad's? Uh, chowderhead... I have to tell you something... I slept with someone and I... WHAT!?!?! You piece of shit who the fuck did you meet up with out of town to FUCK?! And you tell me this on CHRISTMAS well FUCK YOU! Uh... well... that's not all. I... I slept with another guy I met at a party. I think I'm gay. HAHAHHAHAHAH oh man you really had me going there for a minute... you're such a jerk LOL no... I'm not kidding. his name was Damien, but I call him 'day'. I've been in love with him for a long time. Uhh... welp, nice knowing you. click

Then he went and told people that he impregnated me and I had an abortion. I was like where the fuck is this coming from? he wouldn't stop so I beat the shit out of him. That's the only time I've ever actually gotten violent with something. it was worth it.

was moving from victoria to winnipeg. We (me, my brothers, sister, and parents) just crossed into alberta when nature called. No rest areas, so dad pulls over to the side of the highway, and I piss in the bushes. I get back up and start walking to the car when i hear "SCREEEEEEE" I turn around and see an 18 wheeler breaking to avoid hitting a tiny car, the cab goes sideways, hits the car and completely flattens it. I saw the driver of the cars brains splooge out of the side. The 18-wheeler trailer broke up everywhere, hitting several other cars. I have never seen anything so surreal in my entire life. One second this dude is fine, the next, he's splattered across the highway. So so so unreal.

TL;DR - saw an 18 wheeler smoosh a guys brains out like toothpaste.

Reddit, my grandma died and weeks after cleaning out her things, I found something hilarious/shocking/fascinating about my family. Can anyone relate? by Spinnakerrin AskReddit

[–]Chowderhead1 2 points3 points ago

After my mom's step-dad died, her mom was put into a nursing home. She had MS and alzheimers, and had about a 10 second memory span. Everyone knew she had a LOT of secrets. Nobody could ever get anything out of her, though (she had some long term memory left). After cleaning out the house, they found that Papa saved everything. and I mean EVERYTHING. he did not throw out a single thing in the 25 or so years they lived there. The found condoms (still wrapped) from the 1950s. They took 7 truck loads of garbage to the dump. But, in going through everything, they found out two things. Nana had a child when she was 18, and gave him up for adoption. My aunt later found him, and found that he is full blood-related to my mom and her sisters. My grandfather never knew about his son until son was in his 40s. My mom said "it makes so much sense now... she was SO mad at me for giving Shannon up for adoption when I was 18". Second thing, they found records of an illness my aunt had as a child. It showed her blood type, and her parents blood types. there is no way the man who she thought was her father is in fact her father. Aunt went to nana and said "Dad isn't really my dad, is he, mom?" She said "nope. milkman. milkman made you. yup. Phil doesn't know though, so don't tell him". TL;DR - Grandmother had illegitimate child and hid it from my grandfather. Also hid her affair with the milkman, who fathered my aunt.

OOH! ok I've got a doozy, I'll try to make a looooooong story short. Telus BC says we owe them $1000+ from an account 8+ years ago (after giving us a new account with new phones etc). I ask for a bill showing this. No uh.... we can't give you a bill, but you owe it. What?!??! OK... we've got it sorted out. Don't worry, you don't owe us. blah blah blah. Next time: "oh, you owe us $1000+" NO. we DON'T! "oh, ok, sorry blah blah blah" a year later: "you owe us this $1000+" I got so fucking mad. we DON'T owe this, there is NO proof we do, AND 2 other CSR's said we don't, and closed that, PLUS it's past the statute of limitations ANYWAYS. argue for an hour. I finally say "let me talk to the supervisor NOW". Guy comes back 10 minutes later "oh.. uhh.. sorry, ya... it's past the statute of limitations and uhh... you don't owe us this, so uhhh.. sorry". I asked him to repeat himself and then said "is this call being recorded?" he said yes, so i told him to note that on my file, note that I don't owe a god damned dime. Got a year of call display for free. whoopdee doo... I would have preferred not going through the hassle. Ended my contract and got the fuck outta there after that.

TL;DR Telus Mobility sucks nard and claims you owe money without any proof.

Let it be known that I did the exact same job as her. I got a lot of SHIT in that job (I gave her zero shit) but I never, not ONCE gave shit back.

Other job - "rush hour" at wendy's when I was 17. Loud in the back where everyone is running around, loud in front of the counter where everyone is lined up. guy asks for something, I politely say "sorry?" asks again "Sorry, it's really loud back here..." "RELISH!!!!!" "oh, sorry, here..." Next woman gave him the evil eye and said to me, loudly, "Don't worry, I won't yell at you!" I love people like that.
