Can you go ahead and delete or update the thread because they found the kid and his abductors?

They found the kid and his mother, who apparently looks a lot like David Bowie

It's more "backwards" to create laws telling private religious organizations what they can do. There should be a constitutional amendment against that...

Private schools fire unmarried hetero teachers all the time for living together or getting knocked up. Should there also be a law against that?

Also, this incident, rather than furthering the recognition and acceptance of gay marriage by private religious schools, will actually discourage them from hiring gay employees in the future, lest the gay teacher decide to get married.

Summary: The guy knew he was gay when he took the job, knew the church's position on gay marriage, decided to get married to another man, and is then upset when that's not ok with the church.

If you don't like the terms of employment, then don't take the job.

Anyone have tips on using ebay (and other sites) to sell things? by LepidFunambulain Frugal

[–]CallMeBinkley3 2 points3 points ago*

I like the CL suggestion. I've bought a car, sold a freezer, and given away a piano using Craigspist. Tips for selling: 1) price slightly higher than what you actually hope to get for it. The buyer will want to haggle

2) Sell all items "cash and carry"/ Don't promise that you will hold anything, generally, unless you feel like wasting a Saturday afternoon waiting for some bozo to get a ride from his cousin

3) don't bother responding to emails that don't make sense/ are obviously written by someone who isn't referring to your item specifically. These people are probably scammers

4) if someone mentions a SOB story in their email, this person is going to annoy you. They will then show up late and say that their kid's soccer game ran late, and then stiff you on the price and try to say they can't afford your price.

5) go back and forth a bit via email to get a feel for the buyer before you tell them your number/address.

Casa Gallardo closes all of its St. Louis area restaurants | KMOV.com St. Louis by thefootisconstantin StLouis

[–]CallMeBinkley3 1 point2 points ago

First they closed Wendy's, but I did not speak up because I was away at college and we had a Wendy's there.

Then they closed Casa Gallardo, but I did not speak up, because I was not an elementary school teacher on the last day of school who wanted to get "tipsy" off of margaritas

Hey St. Louis, what are some great places to take a girl on a casual and fun date? by jak_jakin StLouis

[–]CallMeBinkley3 0 points1 point ago

If you play pool, Cue and Cushion on Woodson near Midland. Working class area not too far from some bars. Chuck-A-Burger is a good 50's themed shake/burger place nearby that occasionally has vintage car shows in the weekend

Cards games are usually blacked out on streaming radio broadcasts. Now and then I can find a rural station streaming who doesn't... Otherwise, an HD radio in the car gets me awesome sound quality in the car on KMOX here in St Louis.

Reddit, around a fifth of my fraternity brothers are redditors, and we've all noticed an "anti-Frat" sentiment here. Why is that? by Kazz3lrathin AskReddit

[–]CallMeBinkley3 8 points9 points ago

It's rare to use the term "frat" in a positive way. "Fraternity" sounds more serious and less likely to be said like it was written in italics.
