TROPHY CASE

My 2 recently acquired Lee-enfields decided to take some pictures together. Not bad for $220. by Whitehead3129in Firearms

[–]Bumbleton 0 points1 point ago

This is really true. I recently came across one for my birthday and I love it. People (elitists) give me shit about the stock, but that doesn't change the fact that the action is great, and it shoots amazingly.

Does anyone feel like joining the military helped them to be a better person? by charcoledin Veterans

[–]Bumbleton 4 points5 points ago

Hm, That's an interesting question... I would say yes, it helped me learn my limits, and gave me a wealth of experience that I don't even really know the full value of. I also have to say, really think about what you're interested in, because you can really get a lot out of it. Also think about whether or not you can accomplish those goals outside of the military. Is the military just a kick in the ass, to get you moving; or is it a means to a better end? For me, it was a means to something better, but I was lucky it was. It could have been me just wasting my time. You have a chance to do something that gives you a TONNE of opportunities.

Nice Tantal! Just got one 2 weeks ago! Also, happy to see it fits in a violin (or tiny guitar?) case, I recently got a new case, and now I DEFINITELY have plans for my old one.

Richmond makes national headlines for 1000+ person women's rights protest on the Capitol by blackgirl87in rva

[–]Bumbleton 2 points3 points ago*

Which is a much greater risk than a lot of protesters take. Is it really that surprising that they don't? I was thinking about that the other day- what I would do in their place. I mean, it's so obviously wrong (the legislature), but they're not really there to support either side (I recognize an argument as to why they are). It just seems like the issue at hand is lost when it becomes an outlet to point fingers at how bad the police are.

Is a Cb350 a good starter bike? by Mixdroidin motorcycles

I've been 90+ on mine. It was hard to tell how fast I was going though, after 60 the speedometer proves to be... inaccurate. I think I got an exceptional deal on mine though. 700 bucks- completely mechanically sound, 2 extra carbs, new forks, exhaust, CDI, front disk brake, plus all the original parts.

I always find it interesting when someone uses "the best and the brightest." I wonder if they realize that it's a reference to the Vietnam war, and was meant as sarcasm (al la the book), or are they just referencing a popular term or actually mean the best and the brightest?

Pastor to rape victim: “He should have killed you. At least you’d have died a virgin.” [xpost from /r/christianity] by n0t_5hurein atheism

[–]Bumbleton 3 points4 points ago

Yeah, it's reminiscent of science, in that, lets say you read some of Einsteins works. I cant remember what, but he was wrong about something, I think it may be regarding quantum mechanics. Today, we realize- "hey, he got stuff wrong." But we still use what he got right, and disregard what he got wrong. People believe in Christianity with all their hearts. If they're willing to disregard the wrong parts, and hang on to stuff that is applicable to their life, I'd say, that's awesome. I don't expect anyone to follow Einstein to the letter after realizing he was wrong about something (sorry, I really cant remember what! Or maybe I'm remembering that he thought he was wrong, but was really right.).

I think, viewing the story where the guy cuts up his lady, as a piece of literature in an overarching story line, changes the whole context. That story is an example, a literary device. As that book progresses, they get more messed up as a people, and that's supposed to be representative of their leaders, who build temples to other gods. (he doesn't do it because god told him to, he's supposed to be a shitty character)

So using that as an example is inaccurate. There's enough messed up old testament stuff to not use incorrect examples.

Don't get too down about drum brakes or your "lack of suspension." Honda knew what they were doing back then, and they did a good job. Good clean drums that are adjusted well work great...

Very very accurate. The first Rambo is a really sad movie. Watching it as a veteran is very depressing. The rest are, well, purely ridiculous.

Thanks! The float occasionally sticks, and I lose a bit of power when that happens (plus gas pours out) but I spent several hours riding today and it was smooth even power the whole time.
