If you awoke today from a ten-year coma, what is the first thing you would do? by jacobmclaughlinin AskReddit

[–]Brezzo 5 points6 points ago

We had those things, but they're way better now. I bet with your 90s cell phone you couldn't stream movies, get turn-by-turn gps directions, record at 1080p, download and use over 500,000 applications.. You get the point.

Fundamentally we basically have the same stuff, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be insanely mind-blowing.

Yeah, I was just messing with you :)

Cooking food tastes way better, but the convenience usually wins for me.

I want truffled caviar on top of a whole quail, triple cooked, served with a side of diamonds.

All for $3 or less. Also, don't hold back on the healthiness.

Do you make the Stouffer's Sautes for One? I'd really like to try it.

I've never gotten more hate from a costume by politifyDOTusin funny

[–]Brezzo 1 point2 points ago

It wouldn't return a □, it would return a 404 straight away ;)

Either way, to have to assume that makes the novelty account rather pointless.

[–]Brezzo 61 points62 points ago

404 is for not found, it's got nothing to do with corrupted/incorrectly formatted text.

Not when you live in Australia :(

Non-Americans who have visited the US: What surprised you the most about the US, and what surprised you the least? by jumbletonin AskReddit

[–]Brezzo 2 points3 points ago

Yep, that's right. I live in Australia, and things must be advertised to include GST. It's handy to know that if you only want, for example, a few things, you can get the exact/close amount ready before you get to the checkout. In the US, tax is added and the amount varies by state, and isn't always easy to calculate on the spot (especially if it's like, 8% or something). Wastes time at the checkout when you have to then find the correct(ish) change.

[–]Brezzo 1 point2 points ago

Yeah. That's true, but if you're in the states for a while, you're bound to eventually try different things, including McD's. Especially considering how cheap it is over there.

I'm 17 and my mom just technically abandoned me. Is there anything I need to know that can help me. by zzenterin AskReddit

[–]Brezzo 1 point2 points ago

Good suggestions but I'd rather keep my whole identity offline with someone I trust, like my parents or siblings as a copy than with online corporations, regardless of encryption or their "trustworthiness".

Credit cards can also be replaced.

All you really need is a fireproof, waterproof, everything proof underground safe built into the building's slab or whatever. Otherwise, yeah, a copy of your birth certificate at your parent's, friend's or someone else's house that you trust.

Have any of you Canberrans gotten your P's by doing the test rather than logbook with an instructor? by sleepthoughtsin canberra

It's a few days, like 48 hours or something.

If you fail, you can ask. But you haven't failed yet, so you don't need to think about that!

We all know that TPB is down. It's not a DDoS, since traceroutes are failing to make it to the European continent from most of NorthAmerica/etc... More disturbing: Wikileaks is down now as well. Please tracert wikileaks.org and check the geo of the timeout by MathGruntin technology

[–]Brezzo 0 points1 point ago

Australia here also. Can access both wikileaks.org and thepiratebay.se. No problems.

TPB was down for a while for me (as everyone) but is back up.

Australia seventh-worst polluter on Earth by DNAlchemistin australia

[–]Brezzo 1 point2 points ago

Per person, yeah, but we only have 22 million-odd people, we hardly make a huge impact on the world.

Not saying it's good for us to pollute the environment or anything, it's just until the huge polluters such as China, India and the USA start cutting their emissions, I don't see the point in a tiny country like Australia in doing it.

Edit: Apparently everyone disagrees with this. I'm trying to say that while it's good we ARE doing things for the environment, our gross input to the global scheme of things isn't very big. Yes, we can set an example, but will other countries even care to try?

Go try and encode/export a video on an i3 and then do it again on an i7. Any i3 and any i7. It will take way longer on the slower processor. Add more ram? Won't do shit unless you had hardly any ram to begin with.
