whoa there, I do not attempt in any way to justify ignorance but I don't pretend its possible to fix this problem over night, you said it yourself there are a huge amount of religious folk who want to dictate to others how to live, however it also appears to me that the same freedoms which allow them to do this are also granted to us (hence this wonderful subreddit) and that would never be allowed in some countries. If we restrict anyone's rights be they religious or otherwise it will backfire. I would also argue that the godhatesfags website and church has done more to expose how disgusting religion can be that any other church group in recent history, if we would have not allowed them ever to speak they would still be bigots but the world wouldn't know they were bigots. Ideology based in ignorance will almost always defame itself eventually, there are some who say christianity itself only has about another 200 years before its extinct, in order for that to actually happen we need religious freedom in tact so we can expose them.
