People keep telling me they won't read or watch GoT because it's like a porno. Answer me this... by Rtv08cin gameofthrones

[–]Bladethegreat 2 points3 points ago

All they did was move Littlefinger's development, which I think really hurts him as a character. One of the best things about him in the books is that early on you really never know what's up with him: sure everyone knows that Varys is up to constant plots and secrets, but all that we know of Littlefinger is what we get through Cat's memories of him and Sansa's occasional views of him making jests and such in court. It isn't until much later that he actually begins to confide in a POV character and we directly learn of what kind of man he truly is, but now all the mystery of his character is gone and he's an open book.

To be fair, the show does add in sex scenes that were not in the book and add very little to the overall plot or character development.

e.g. the various Littlefigner's brothel scenes in Season 1

Even in an age of constant technology, children are still going to enjoy rather simple toys. The pure joy of play without limits is never going to be diluted by time.

There was another thing like this a while back, though I forget if it was a Facebook app or not, and all it did was result in everyone picking Fuck for everyone regardless of what they actually think just to see who chose the same for them.

How am I supposed to get any work done with this sitting next to me? by funny_little_frogin aww

[–]Bladethegreat 9 points10 points ago

My golden retriever tends to do that, but he wants you to try and get it back anyway. Of course he'll growl at you and keep a firm jaw-grip on the ball if you try to grab it, so you usually have to distract him by petting him then snatch it once he's not paying attention, and then he's excited for it to be thrown again. Yet despite how much he likes the actual fetch aspect he never wants to let you have the ball back without a fight.

A nice philosophy for horror games. And from YouTube, no less. by BlitzkriegDDin gaming

I forget what game I played recently, might have been Silent Hill: Homecoming, but it used jump-scares really interesting. There was a single jump scare moment early on, and then never again. The game set an early precedent that jump scares were on the table, ensuring that you braced yourself for them in future creepy moments, but never used them again and instead just kept you always ready on the edge of your seat, more unnerved by the lack of anything suddenly popping out than anything else.

I don't see how they could force them to take it down, its pretty much just things people have said about her.

New to the series, which would you suggest I play first: Freedom Unite, Tri or Portable 3rd? by Bladethegreatin MonsterHunter

[–]Bladethegreat[S] 0 points1 point ago

See, the thing with this is that my friends did play Freedom Unite a while back, but at this point they've all put 300 hours or so into it so even if I started playing I feel like there wouldn't be much for them to do if they joined me, plus they'd be way above my level.

Hmm, maybe I should go with Portable 3rd and I could teach them how to get it since I don't think any of them know a thing about PSP modding, then we could play that together.

What's the appeal of Torchlight 2 when compared to Diablo 3? by fdsalerin Diablo

Its another fine looking game in the same subgenre of games. What's not to like? Its not as if Baldur's Gate II fans were at war with Planescape: Torment fans when both games were new and shiny, most people loved both.

If you want a single piece of technology you'll only have to upgrade once every half a decade or so just stick with a console, you really don't seem to be the type of gamer who opts for PC if you hate upgrading so much.

Because its based around space magic and things which have absolutely no scientific explanation whatsoever. You could call it sci-fi if you really must, but its the softest of the soft sci-fi.

Those of you who were/are completely new to DOTA 2 might be able to relate... by chronokittyin DotA2

Honestly I never had any of those experiences at first, while the whole skill levels thing may still not be perfect it did ensure that my first few games were mostly with other new players and other such patient players that were willing to answer what questions I had and didn't rage when I played stupidly (I remember dying to Riki like 10 times in my second or third ever game).

Just download an emulator if you're that desperate to play old games with a controller, like everyone else does and would continue to do even if this thing was made.
