Real pictures of Iran and Iranians - What your media doesn't want you to see by Kaveh2kin ronpaul

Came here hoping someone had posted this video. Every neocon should be forced to watch it.

Why do you keep on living? by opus666in self

[–]Bjorn2404 -1 points0 points ago

Why haven't you had a decent conversation recently? Making friends in college should be relatively easy and you shouldn't pass up all the social opportunities there. It gets a lot more difficult to meet people after college and I definitely regret not doing more of that. Are you living off campus? Move back to the dorms. Are you involved with any clubs? Try a new one - most schools have a big variety. Are you unhappy with your school or location? Maybe you should consider transferring.

I could go on about hobbies, goals, traveling, etc. but having no desire to live isn't what most people would consider to be a healthy mindset. You should try to figure out exactly what is wrong or what you are unhappy about and how you can alleviate the issue/s. It's possible you could be having mental health issues, which is really more common than you think. Talking about it with someone can be difficult but you have no reason not to - at this point you have a lot more to gain than lose. The beauty of being in college is that most schools offer easy access to health professionals and counselors.

On top of all that maybe you just need a break. College can be extremely stressful not only because of the workload but also because you are expected to make major life decisions about what you want to do and where you want to live in the coming years. Try doing something to settle your mind. Taking a long walk/hike does a lot for me but there are tons of things you could do. If you have a school break try going on vacation to a new place on your own for a few days and do some exploring.

Fox News: Ron Paul is much bigger than people know by lib3rty411in ronpaul

[–]Bjorn2404 0 points1 point ago

It's national. These guys are the supposed "political experts" and even though I don't watch fox or even have cable, I've seen them totally bash and dismiss Paul in the past. I remember them talking during the fox debate breaks - I would promptly mute the stream.

Skyrim DLC: Dawnguard by seabanin gamernews

[–]Bjorn2404 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, their tweet yesterday said "Be on the lookout for the first DLC info tomorrow"..... I'm not seeing any info. This is just pure marketing hype but I'm just disappointed because I play PC and PS3.

Gabe Newell: No Valve Game Announcements at E3 by korin125in pcgaming

[–]Bjorn2404 7 points8 points ago

Big deal. When was the last time Valve announced a game at E3? It seems like they've really downplayed the conference over the last few years.

HAE still managed to avoid getting facebook time- line? by better_than_palinin DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Bjorn2404 10 points11 points ago

I'm a full-time web developer and I don't like it at all. It makes more sense for businesses than people. Also, "web 2.0" is a buzz word that has little to no meaning.

Sweden puts Ingmar Bergman on their 200 kronor bills by likwitsnakein ForeignMovies

[–]Bjorn2404 5 points6 points ago

As much as I like the idea of commemorating a great artist I think Bergman may have hated this. It's also somewhat ironic considering the whole tax evasion charge.

What environment do you guys use when developing HTML5, PHP, etc? by JoeyBananazin web_design

[–]Bjorn2404 21 points22 points ago

Sublime Text 2 is in beta but with the right packages it's pretty amazing. There is a good intro article on Nettuts. I used to use Netbeans for PHP stuff and Dreamweaver for HTML but have switched to using mostly just Sublime.

Design? Photoshop.

Non-profit web site wants to know if Wordpress can generate reports on user donations. by GenitalHerculesin Wordpress

[–]Bjorn2404 2 points3 points ago

There might be better plugins specifically for donating out there but you could definitely use Gravity Forms to do this. There is an export feature in the admin options.

Ukulele in the middle of a street (LP- Into the Wild) by framedcrookedlyin ukulele

This is a great song. I don't know much about Laura but her "Bob Dylan act" really turns me off - it seems fake. That's just my impression.

I don't have personal experience with them but I've heard good things about Duluth Pack. Seeing that you posted about JW Hulme means that they would also be a local company.

I'm that family member who is never going to pay you back. Help me decide what to do. by zumzumzumin personalfinance

[–]Bjorn2404 1 point2 points ago

Debt it debt, and that's the only way you should look at it. If you really want to be in control of your financial life you always pay it off. If nothing else, look at the repayment as a way to gain more financial discipline and possibly repair relations with your grandfather. It seems like you're just looking for an excuse not to pay.

I wish they'd have more episodes per season. I just watched season 1 for the first time and was surprised that it was over after 10.

Just look at the companies that make up the DJIA. Even though they're American companies I think almost all of them have European locations and all of them definitely do business worldwide with the possible exception of Home Depot. Besides all of the foreign business between companies, you also have to consider private deals between central banks.

Yeah, the perspective is just all wrong and there appear to be 2 horizon lines. The only way it might work is if that was the ocean beyond the tree line but the horizon line between the water and the sky probably wouldn't be that flat at this distance and there would be a massive reflection. Looks terrible.

From my understanding that is a pretty poor definition of existentialism. He should be using nihilism or at least existential nihilism.

I also got the Three Colors Trilogy. I just noticed that my Blue disc appears to have the wrong label - Secret Sunshine (another Criterion film). It's the right movie on the disc so I don't really care but I was wondering if yours is the same.

Ladies of WE: red bumps and irritation? Help! by hellohaleyin wicked_edge

[–]Bjorn2404 -2 points-1 points ago

I've read applying unscented clear deodorant after shaving can help.

I also agree with recommendations to switch blade brands - I can't use feathers on my face without irritation.

Is it possible to copy a flash website and make it a WordPress site? by brokeboysboxersin Wordpress

[–]Bjorn2404 3 points4 points ago*

No, it's not as easy as copying html source, especially if it's flash. A programmer might be able to replicate the design - hiring one with WordPress theme development experience would be your best bet.

Thoughts and suggestions on Rooibos by samysam602in tea

[–]Bjorn2404 0 points1 point ago

It seems to work well with vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and some fruits like peaches. Plain rooibos seems pretty earthy tasting to me but I like it straight occasionally. I had a coconut rooibos on vacation in Seattle from Market Spice that was really good and I've been trying to replicate it - recently bought some coconut flakes. I also like blending rooibos with the Cardamon Cinnamon Republic of Tea loose leaf mix, which also has pink peppercorns.
