I thought I was the only one who thought this was annoying, and borderline manipulative. My charity shouldn't be from guilt; leave me alone while I buy my food for the week. I don't mind if they ask at the register or if a charity asks outside the store, but I know there are much more effective and educated ways to donate your time or money. It's no different than any other kind of marketing or advertising, except that I am the one who is shamed if I don't want to participate.

Why do I need to link to sources? They are all in the FAQ, Keto has already linked it's sources. Go read Good Calories, Bad Calories by Taubes, or Wheat Belly by David, or watch Fathead to see how our bodies break down carbs. Then explain why those are wrong in your post; your argument that you understand what we are saying but you still think it's just calories is impossible to argue against. If you agree that the science is true but just doesn't have any effect in real life there's nothing I can say to prove otherwise- we've already shown our proof.

Does the calories in/calories out model hold any amount of truth? Yes. Eating 6000 calories a day will make you fat no matter what you eat. That does not mean the body does not react differently to carb based diets and fat based diets, or that keto is just as effective as eating junk when calories are the same.

Of course people on Keto are eating less calories than before- they're dieting, and it's an effective way to diet. That's not the reason it works though.

I disagree. If you had 2 diets, each consisting of 2500 calories a day for a 6'0 male, one keto, and the other with a diet that aligns with the food pyramid, I think you would see very different results in regards to blood pressure, weight loss, or energy.

I also disagree with the following point from above:

Many people here eat very tasty and "hedonic" foods, just look at caveman keto or sevimel's blogs.

Mainly, I don't get your point of this post other than to troll, especially when you post things that support what we claim the diet to be:

So you think it's just a calorie issue, when the evidence you give says this diet works on a physiological, not behavioral, level?

Yeah, lots of people here reduce their calories to lose weight faster. But a lot of people don't either. We've had a front page post about a guy losing weight eating bunless burgers for months. So don't say the "real reason" for keto success is low calorie eating and elimination of junk food, when plenty of people have had success on Keto without either one of those caveats.

If you're asking for suggestions, the number 1 would be to cut carbs out immediately. If you have to eat fast food, there are still things you can eat, although I don't think anyone here would suggest them. This subreddit is pretty predisposed to home cooking with natural ingredients, and knowing exactly what you are putting in your body- something you can't do at a restaurant.

That said, Hardee's has a low carb breakfast option called the low carb breakfast bowl, found here scroll down to see it. I would highly recommend not eating this in any degree of normalcy. The fact is you ask what can you do to get under 300, and you aren't going to see the same results as other 300 lb+ people who have been able to lose 120 lbs unless you eat like they do. I move around for work a lot too, so I recognize the difficulty in cooking due to work circumstances. But I don't let that be an excuse to cheat on keto.

Here are some of my suggestions for cooking. I assume you don't have a fully functional kitchen, but you can get a hot plate and small pot from Goodwill or even pretty cheap online, and that dramatically increases your cooking options. Believe it or not, cooking your own food isn't that much more expensive than eating fast food, and can be cheaper if you are prudent about it.

Also, I would avoid using the George Foreman a lot, because that drains the fat out of the food, which is essential for this diet. If you only eat protein, low fat, and low carbs, you are going to feel sick, get kidney stones, lose energy, and any other number of things. I'm not saying your George Foreman is going to give you kidney stones, but I am saying that a shift in cooking habits makes this diet much much easier.

It seems you don't really know what Keto is, and you are surprised at the response. That is because you haven't read any of the materials available for you. So, since you are on your phone, take the time to read this:

Read those to answer like 99% of your questions. The first thing you need to do is cut out all carbs, and get 65% of your calories from fat. It sounds drastic, I know. But read the resources above and it explains why. You have not been eating keto at all with what you described. As far as your complaining about your hardee's burrito falling apart, you are going to have to learn to eat differently than you do now. If you can't go out of your way to improve your diet, keto won't work for you. You won't lose weight eating the way you got fat.

Sorry about the response from this subreddit. You had poor timing, there have been many new people coming in and asking questions that are easily answered in the FAQ and Nutshell. You just happened to have many misconceptions about the diet and people are kind of tired of seeing it every day. Don't take the downvotes personally. If you want to improve your health, you will actually find a lot of support here. Try reading what I linked, search for answers to any questions you have, and come back if things aren't clear.

I don't think you are actively avoiding water, but you should be actively drinking water on keto. It's in the keto in a nutshell in super high bold for a reason: we ketards need to drink our water! Just a reminder. It's hard for me to get in the water I need every day too

You can find coconut oil at Walmart even sometimes. Check in the health section though- it's not by the crisco.

I like the smaller ones more too. I've never peeled thick ones before. Usually I just cover them in oil, throw some sea salt on, and roast them in the oven until they are shriveled and crispy- even the big ones are tender and tasty. Give it a shot!

I agree, this is less of a losing weight issue, and more of a being healthy issue. You retain less water on this diet, that means you need to drink more water period. Forget about losing weight, focus on giving your body what it needs.
