TROPHY CASE

  • Two-Year Club

My 3 y/o daughter woke up at 4:00am this morning because she was convinced that we had hidden some donuts somewhere in her room and she wanted to eat them. Spent the next 15 minutes trying to convince her that she was dreaming. by the-d-manin Parenting

My oldest had a big problem with sleep walking/sleep talking. Most the times it was mild and silly...little things like arguing with her brother or laughing, talking, etc. in her sleep. I think she was still sleeping though when we'd tell her to go back to bed or let her know she was dreaming. Once she walked into our room, walked over to the corner & started pulling down her pants to go pee. Sometimes it was creepy through. One time I went into her room because I could hear her talking; it was common for her to do that kind of thing & I'd usually touch her shoulder & tell her she was dreaming or whatever & lay her back down. Anyways, I hear her talking so I go into check on her & she's sitting up having a conversation with no one (usual stuff) so I go over to her and tell her she's dreaming & she looks up at me and says, "No mommy, I'm talking to the man in my closet." Then lays down & goes to sleep. Even though I knew it was her dreaming it was still kinda heeby jeeby-esque.

I make clothing & finally got around to making myself something. Naturally I chose something GoT related. by AsshatMcBallsasagginin gameofthrones

I didn't design the pic on the front. It was a mens tee I got at Tee Fury (I think that's where I bought it) I just turned it into a more girly looking top.

Jailed for $280: The return of debtors' prisons - CBS News by NuclearJesusin news

[–]AsshatMcBallsasaggin 71 points72 points ago

This happened to me. In Price, UT this type of shit is big business. It's not about repaying debt or anything like that. It makes the courts & the collection firm a shit ton of money. I had a $436 hospital bill that I had been paying on. There was something like $86 & sme change left on it & I lost my job. I called all my debtors & told them what was going on & worked out payment plans for each bill - this one included. About 2 or 3 weeks after talking to the hospital on the phone I got a collection letter from Professional Collections Inc. about the bill- but now it was up to something like $200 because of "fees". I call them, explain to them what happened. Told them about the conversation I had with the billing dept of the hospital etc. I was told I needed to pay the $200 & some odd dollars within the month or they'd take it to court. I could not pay it all at once so I tried to payment the $200 throughout the month. I think I sent them something along the lines of $70-$90 before the month was through. Keep in mind that I was very young & naive about the way the world actually works & I guess I thought that if I showed them I had all intentions of paying they'd be less dick-ish about it. They weren't. About 5 or 6 weeks after my inital contact with the professional collections people a cop came to my home & arrested me. I NEVER got anything from any court- I was never served a Goddamned thing (I later found out that a lot of the people who had the same thing happen to them never got served court papers). I was arrested in front of my crying daughter & had to leave her with a neighbor until my sister could come get her. I was handcuffed & sent to fucking jail over an $86 dollar hospital bill. Here's the real kicker though- my bail was a $500 cash only bond. When I called my dad for bail money he wouldn't give it to me because "Theres no such thing as debtors prisons anymore" and until I told him the real reason I was in jail he wasn't giving me the money. I ended up having to pawn my car in order to get out of jail. When I bailed out I recieved a court date. Went to court there were around 40 fucking people there who were all there because of bills ( in a small town like Price, Utah 40 people is a lot!) Anyways- they kept the $500 bail & I still had to pay Professional Collections the $200 PLUS interest. They did work out a payment plan with me but because of the intrest I'm sure I ended up paying them back closer to $400. It's wrong. I don't give a shit how much debt you have- the courts, businesses, & collection agencies should not have the right to do this to anyone. Like I said- it's a scam for profit, not about repaying a debt.

Colorado parents force cancellation of Easter Egg hunt by mushpuppyin offbeat

[–]AsshatMcBallsasaggin 7 points8 points ago

We stopped taking our kids to the local easter egg hunts 2 years ago because of this kind of crap. The hunts are even seperated by age group...so it's not like you have toddlers fighting 12 year olds. Instead there were grown ass men & women plowing over 4 year olds, dragging their kid along- litterally, to get eggs. The kids whos perents weren't giant assbags didn't really have a chance.

What is Wyoming like? by joshb22in wyoming

[–]AsshatMcBallsasaggin 1 point2 points ago

I love Wyoming. I've lived all over the US & this is by far my favorite place to live. Like everyone else has already said- the weather can be harsh, but the outdoorsey stuff more than makes up for it. More so than that, (as far as I'm concerned) is the people. The people who live here are the friendliest, warmest, most easy going people I've ever met.

My Dad after a fire on a cold day...pretty badass by leggomyeggo25in pics

[–]AsshatMcBallsasaggin 5 points6 points ago

As someone who lives in WY- you get used to it. I actually like the cold & prefer it to the heat. There's something about having your breath freeze in your nose that's so awesome. Plus- when it's cold, you can always add more layers. In the heat- one can only get so naked.

What is the laziest thing you've ever done? by Miobyin AskReddit

I've never seen that, no. She had a bunch of sheets tied to some kind of doggy harness leash and she'd lower the poor thing 3 stories. I felt so bad for it...I always worried something would go wrong with her busted ass invention & he'd fall. A basket would've probably been safer than what she had going on.

[–]AsshatMcBallsasaggin 282 points283 points ago

Not me but a friend of mine- She invented some kind of half assed leash harness combo so she could lower her dog out the window for it to go to the bathroom and drag it back up when it was finished. All so she wouldn't have to walk up the stairs to her apartment.

Sewing. I make clothes & sell them. My profits buy more materials and a little extra for food, bills, etc. I LOVE what I do & it pays for itself. Win!
