What child names make you instantly lose respect for the parent when you hear it? by KimJongUnoin AskReddit

[–]Antistis 4 points5 points ago

I plan on naming any son I have Cyril, after my adopted grandpa. (His nickname was Cy, as in sigh)

Is this a bad name? I'm slightly afraid.

What is the most ridiculous thing you have ever seen a tourist get upset over? by UhOhImInTroublein AskReddit

What? In Mississippi, several people wear flags on their shirts.

I do it because that's how I would want people to treat me.

I never thought of men doing that kind of thing until this thread popped up. . . But I doubt I'll see people like that even now.

Fuck, I loved that bit.

I haven't heard him in a long time. . . . Has he really gone down hill in his comedy? Or is everyone on Reddit just hating on it since it's popular to do so?

All my guy friends have had girlfriends while knowing me; never got dropped.

Then again, we all became friends when I was ugly as shit, flat-chested, and dressed and ACTED like 'one of the guys'.

So that might be a slight cause of that.

I don't have any place in the US I want to go to...

How many of you have refused marriage proposals and why did you do it? How did it happen? by SavvyVeein AskReddit

[–]Antistis 1 point2 points ago

The only person I'm a gol digger towards is my dad.

And even then it's small things, like a huge $50 teddy bear on sale for $15.

I don't get why people do that.

Fuck, I'm atheist, in a VERY religious community. But when I tell someone I'm having a horrid day, or I post it on FB, and they tell me, 'I'll pray for your day to get better!' I fucking say 'Thank you for the kindness.'

Do I remind them of my lack of faith? No. Do I rub it in their face that I think prayers do nothing? No. I sit there and feel good that someone thought about me to that extent.

It depresses me when I think that people are nice to me because they want sex, instead of, ya know, just BEING NICE. What happened to that? I thought you were supposed to be nice to everyone until they have you reason not to be.

At least, that's how I was raised.

Edit: Okay, maybe rephrase this:

It depresses me when I think back to all the times people have been nice to me, and think 'They might have just done that to see if they could score.'

This is one thing I'm grateful for: my dad has straight up told me that if he had the choice of me or a woman, he's choose me.

I loves mah daddys.
