A friend and I just built a fully functioning comment system you can install with only one line of code. r/web_design, we'd love your feedback! by jonfranco224in web_design

  • Your demo on the disembl.com is all over the place for me (chrome) seem to get lost scrolling left and right.

  • There does not seem to be any error handling for the +1 -0 buttons, ie. I haven't registered, I click these and nothing happens.... you need a "please sign up to interact" message or something.

  • When I hit the 'discussion' button and move into the thread then click 'previous' it jumps back to the top of the list, not back to where I was looking in the comments.

Sorry If I hardly made sense, just coming off a 7 hour coding marathon

My apologies, I thought lobbying was supporting something in the US (from Australia), still Facebook, Microsoft etc. supports it, hence the conclusion of "silicon valley's silence around this was broken long ago" is still accurate.

Was quoting my source not supporting evidence, for evidence search "Google CISPA" or, for the lazy:

Found Here - "Google acknowledges lobbying on cybersecurity bill CISPA"

Supporters of CISPA include Facebook, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Symantec, AT&T and Verizon.

EDIT: My apologies, I thought lobbying was supporting something in the US (from Australia), still Facebook, Microsoft etc. supports it, hence the conclusion of "silicon valley's silence around this was broken long ago" is still accurate.

It should be like this but rarely is and for companies this is fantastic, lifehacker sums it up nicely here with

The main reason companies are supporting CISPA is because it takes the pressure to regulate users off the private company. SOPA required private companies to keep track of what its users were doing and held private companies liable for its users. CISPA transfers that role and responsibility over to a government entity. Effectively, it makes it so a company cannot be sued by a user for handing their information over to the law.

As pointed out over at HN - Google is lobbying in favor of CISPA, and Facebook supports it publicly, silicon valley's silence around this was broken long ago.

I have the best idea... a reddit bot that posts the same random photos, people will love that....

BaconReader for reddit offers a dark theme, a scrollable, expandable widget, and full post/comment/edit/delete functionality. by OneLouderAppsin promos

Don't know if you guys will read this, I am on the Galaxy Nexus and absolutely love your app, have bought and advised many of my friends to do the same, there is a bug in it though surrounding the viewport settings for your inbuilt browser. ie. If you goto /r/bestof and hit any of the links it opens in actual reddit and because the resolution of the phone is so large you can hardly see it and sometimes cannot zoom in. It would be good if you could put in a exception if the domain is reddit.com/* then load in the baconreader format (like Alien Blue on iOS does).

Thanks!
