I have a slightly unrelated question. Should you use espresso roast via french press or should espresso roast be used ideally only through an espresso machine?

I noticed they tend to be at the top moreso before stirring. Would the sequence then be:

Pour water into press
Scoop out bloom
Stir
Let sit then plunge

Is that right? My main question is do I scoop before I stir.
