Kick them out! Destroy the Imperial General. Destroy the Jarl of Windhelm. Worthless and unnecessary. You can use the daedric artifact Oghma Infinium to level yourself up with 100 in several skill sets. Just read it from your inventory with the bookshelf menu open, place it inside the book shelf (that way it doesn't disappear), close bookshelf menu, read it again but select do not read, take it, repeat. Battle-Borns are all assholes.

Actual spoiler, in response to OP's spoiler:

When you are in the abandoned shack, you don't have to kill one, you can kill two or even all three hostages, and receive a different response from Astrid for each of these choices. Alternatively, you can also kill Astrid, abandoning the entire Dark Brotherhood questline. If you kill Astrid, you complete a quest called 'Fail, Sithis'.
