I've just spent ~$1500 on a new tower and monitor. Now I'm in the market for a keyboard to replace my ten dollar temporary keyboard, the brilliantly-named Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 3000.
My budget is roughly $50.

Boom! Dinovo edge. Have you ever seen a sexier keyboard? No. You haven't. Slim as fuck? yes. Rechargable and runs forever? check and done. Backside is motherfucking orange? you bet. This keyboard will get you laid, it's that damn sexy. Fuck a budget.

I second the Filco suggestion! Any mechanical keyboard will blow away a cheap rubber dome or scissor-style rubber dome keyboard.

I've been using the Logitech G19 since it was released and I love it. Way out of your price range, but I used the G15 before that and loved it as well.
The keys feel nice, it has a built in LCD as well as macro keys and multimedia controls. I also enjoy being able to customize the color of the keyboard backlights.
