1 1/2 cup milk

2 bananas

Why did this get downvoted? Sounds yummy.

If you want something a little more exotic, I highly recommend Pineapple Curry Banana Bread.

Banana bread (my family uses a recipe with sour milk and I haven't had anything top it. let me know if you want the recipe).
Banana bread pudding (sweet bread pudding with banana chunks)
Frozen chocolate coated banana (not recommended for winter)
Carmelized bananas in crepes with nutella (yes)

I love bread pudding, you have that recipe?

Take a standard, sweet bread pudding recipe. Add chunks of banana, omit the vanilla and any spices you'd put in banana bread (cinnamon, tiny bit of nutmeg). Possibly pre-carmelize the banana chunks, but I'm up in the air on that one.
Sorry I don't have a recipe -- a family friend brings it to holiday parties, and this was her explanation (without the pre-carmelizing, but I love those flavors).

I like to peel them and freeze them the make smoothies with OJ, yogurt and fresh fruit. If you want something weird I have made a spicy black bean banana sauce that went great with spicy blackened ahi.

Room temp banana, cut in half then cut in half from end to end. Sprinkle brown sugar on the flat cut side and caramelize the sugar with a brûlée torch or under the broiler. Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 1/3 cups mashed very overripe bananas

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Lightly grease 9 x 5 loaf pan.
  • In large bowl, combine flour, soda and salt.
  • In separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar.
  • Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended.
  • Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten.
  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 60-65 minutes until a toothpick inserted into center of loaf comes out clean.
  • Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

Add to taste:

  • 1t Nutmeg
  • 1t Vanilla
  • 1t Cinnamon

I find sometimes that the 60 minutes is not long enough as this is a very moist bread. Expect 75 to even be normal and don't panic.

Banana & chocolate dessert: - open 1 strip (1cm) of the banana peel (keep 1 end attached) - cut 1cm triangle out, down the length of the banana - fill strip with chocolate blocks (dark chocolate) - close banana peel - grill on BBQ until chocolate has melted - you could probably grill it in the oven as well (20min roughly) - serve

I do this but with marshmallows as well as chocolate. Wrap in foil and it takes about 10 mins at 350.

Damn you, I was about to post this! Except I was going to specify healthier recipes, since my husband and I are on a bit of a health kick at the moment and don't really want to make a sugary cake :/

made these last night and they were really good. Lighter Banana Muffins.

i tweaked the recipe a lil according to the other reviewers. 4 bananas instead of 3 and a splash of milk ('cos i didn't want to risk them being too dry.) i also added some standard banana bread spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger) and walnuts. oh, i also subbed demerara sugar for the regular white but if you aren't opposed to splenda, you could sub that to save on calories/sugar.

edit: hah, i know this is an old thread but i was gonna post this recipe as a new submission before i did a quick search and found this old banana thread.
