Pretty sure it's not. I'm fairly certain I saw the Forever Alone guy before this one debuted, in a comic where an oddly drawn rage guy was stung in the face, and turned into the puffy faced guy. There was a follow up comic in which the open-mouth puffy face guy was drawn, and then someone used the face to represent "Forever Alone," because of his goofy look.

Of course, I can't be positive, and my searches didn't turn up anything other than that no one seems too sure about Forever Alone's true origins.
