Bell's Two Hearted - has been my rock for years!

[–]GlorbAndAGloob 13 points14 points ago

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Followed closely by Lagunitas IPA and SN Torpedo. I always have a case of one of those three beers in my fridge.

[–]Idontlikejohn 0 points1 point ago

These three are right at the top for me too. I'd add in Bridgeport Hop Czar.

[–]intermonadicmut 10 points11 points ago

Racer 5.

[–]thebeerbabe 14 points15 points ago

Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA is the one that I could have any day and it would make me smile.

[–]luckytobehere 0 points1 point ago

This is one of those rare IPA's that I really like but I found I just can't drink too much of it. I saw a case at my local distributor and got it for lack of any good alternative. I fell in love the first few but then the richness and alcohol just started getting too much.

[–]withlittleinterest 0 points1 point ago

I have drank too much of it and my wife was not happy with my post dinner performance. I thought I was hilarious. 4 pints in a little over an hour catches up to you.

Stone IPA

[–]muzakx 0 points1 point ago

This. It's my favorite "session" beer.

[–]t3h_jream 3 points4 points ago

I find myself getting a lot of Founder's Red's RyePA. Always a solid go to.

[–]snevens 0 points1 point ago

I am a big fan of reds rye too. Have you tried Bear Republic Hop Rod? I just had it and it is amazing!

[–]MrNovember785 1 point2 points ago

The man on the label looks far too much like my deceased grandfather. He was an alcoholic. This is my favorite beer.

[–]mcelectricchair 13 points14 points ago

Anchor Steam. There are plenty others I love, but that is my desert island beer.

[–]BeIieve 16 points17 points ago

Good Ol American Yuengling

[–]yimyames 8 points9 points ago

I was excited to get to a state that had Yuengling, then I tried it. Huge letdown.

[–]turkeypants 3 points4 points ago

Yeah it's not craft quality and anybody who says so is full of baloney. But it occupies a unique space halfway between macro and craft, while being not much more expensive than macro and substantially cheaper than craft. It's a workable everyday beer that's a step up from the junk. Anytime you see a tap line-up with all macros and then Yuengling at the end, you're like, "whew." Small mercies. Then you drink it and talk with your friends and don't think about the beer and you're happy it doesn't taste depressing. You'd be happier if there were some interesting craft beers on that line-up, but this is like a life preserver tossed out to you in the deep.

[–]poopwagon 1 point2 points ago

I love this stuff but can not find it out here in California.

[–]eltasty 1 point2 points ago

Amen. This was the beer in my old man's kegerator growing up and so that's what I drank growing up. I'll take it draft or can, no dice in bottles.

[–]Remy45 9 points10 points ago

Every time, Bell's Oberon makes me happy I chose it.

[–]notzach 1 point2 points ago

Yes, I will drink Oberon like water. It's an amazing beer.

[–]punninglinguist 2 points3 points ago

Green Flash West Coast IPA. I'm always in the mood for it.

[–]BBMathlvr 4 points5 points ago

Rogue Dead Guy ale. Even had it at my Wedding.

[–]turkeypants 2 points3 points ago

Left Hand's Sawtooth ESB. When I can't decide on what type of beer I want, or when I just want a beer beer, I get that one.

[–]schlieeefen 2 points3 points ago

Three Floyds Gumballhead

[–]whatsondraft 1 point2 points ago

lucky bastard.

[–]Apollos_Anus 3 points4 points ago

I would say Weihenstephaner Hefeweisen but it's too expensive sometimes.

Honestly, mine might turn into the left hand nitro that just got in.

[–]veruus 2 points3 points ago*

Spaten Optimator or Full Sail Session Lager.

[–]ineed100dollars 3 points4 points ago

Miller High Life - The Champagne of Beers

[–]bobjohnsonmilw 2 points3 points ago

Franziskaner. So many I love in this regard but this Hefe takes the cake for all in my opinion.

[–]Berzo12 1 point2 points ago

The only way I can describe that beer is....sandy, it tastes like the ocean not my favorite flavor lol

[–]Letmefixthatforyouyo 0 points1 point ago

I think over ripe bananas and cloves. Works for me.

[–]bLizTIc 0 points1 point ago

nail on the head sir...nail on the head

[–]explosive_donut 2 points3 points ago

Bostonian here. A beer that I can get behind no matter what is Sam Boston lager. Not the best but it goes with damn near everything.

[–]StateLottery 2 points3 points ago

Lagunitas. A little sumpin' sumpin' ale. Awesome stuff. Makes me soo sad that lagunitas doesn't make their Christmas seasonal anymore....

[–]Generality 1 point2 points ago

Brown sugga? Are they done with that permanently? I thought it was just this year due to unforeseen circumstances. Would be a real shame if so. However, its replacement, lagunitas sucks, was pretty awesome.

[–]novicegrammarian 0 points1 point ago

Don't panic, you'll see it again. In unrelated Lagunitas news, my old roommate has a tattoo of the Lucky 13 pinup girl.

[–]HurricaneNeddy 1 point2 points ago

Lagunitas IPA is really prevalent around where I live, and if that's not available, then Sierra Nevada. They're not my absolute favorites, but they're always on tap and I know what to expect. One of my favorite bars started serving the Lagunitas Holiday Ale and that became my de facto, but I'm not sure how much longer they'll have it.

[–]theempire000 0 points1 point ago

I came here to say lagunitas IPA. Thanks dude.

[–]punsRgay 1 point2 points ago

Maximus ftw.

[–]GhostGlacier 1 point2 points ago

Chimay Blue

[–]yimyames 1 point2 points ago

Brewdog Punk IPA

[–]BongHitta 2 points3 points ago

chimay grand reserve. it is always at the store up the street, I love it, and its so balanced it rules.

[–]avagadro22 1 point2 points ago

Founder's Dirty Bastard

[–]polioisbad 1 point2 points ago

Harp Lager.

[–]Batman_for_President 2 points3 points ago

New Belgium Trippel, it's so good.

[–]architects1 1 point2 points ago

Founder's Breakfast Stout. Favorite stout out there right now.

[–]Solonik 2 points3 points ago

Unibroue's Maudite. Love the flavor and for any beer let alone an 8% it almost doesn't taste alchoholic.

[–]b1x3r 1 point2 points ago

I'm with you. Maudite is my all time favorite since I tried it on a trip up to Montreal in college.

[–]Solonik 0 points1 point ago

hah nice man, also gotta love the story behind the bottle design!

[–]novicegrammarian 2 points3 points ago

Deschutes Black Butte Porter. Imminently quaffable; the style that spawned a forever-affection for Cascadian Darks.

[–]coombuyah26 1 point2 points ago

Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold. So excited it's coming to my new home at the end of this month.

[–]crmaki 5 points6 points ago

Noble Pils

[–]Drunken_Murphys 2 points3 points ago

Guinness. I'm an Irish man living in England it brings back so many memories. Sorry if this is a bit cliche

[–]_nitsuj 1 point2 points ago

gotta agree with you on the Guinness. if I don't want something as heavy, smithwick's it is.

[–]callmecurly 1 point2 points ago

A tie between Bridgeport Brewing's Hop Czar Imperial IPA or Crannóg's Back Hand of God Stout.

[–]Berzo12 1 point2 points ago

Currently cigar city jai alai! I have an entire six pack that was bottled a week ago for all of the super bowl festivities!

[–]d_r0ck 0 points1 point ago

That's a local brew here in Tampa I think. I think the owner of that owns a chain of strip clubs. I see all types of cigar city brews here at publix, I'll give jai alai a go next time.

[–]JimRaynor56 1 point2 points ago

I'm fairly new to craft beer and still finding it hard to like hoppy beers.

That said my favorite at the moment is G. Schneider & Sohn Aventinus.

[–]lyzing 1 point2 points ago

Southern Tier 2x IPA

[–]PygmyCrusher 1 point2 points ago

Lagunitas, probably from growing up in Petaluma. And it's delicious.

[–]safariwhat 1 point2 points ago

Ithaca Flower Power, go ipa's

[–]TratosDM 1 point2 points ago

Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA. I find it's well balanced for an IPA, I can always seem to get a sixer for a fair price, and I could drink it every day and have it put a smile on my face.

[–]Palewan 0 points1 point ago

Harpoon IPA

[–]stlunatic15 0 points1 point ago

Trumer Pils, probably. It's always on sale at the local stores, and is always my go-to beer when I don't know what else to get. After that would probably be Anchor Steam.

[–]breakingbrews 0 points1 point ago

This may sound strange but if I'm not in the mood to go beer hunting at the store or at a beer bar I will always look for the sour. You can usually guarantee a solid beer bar will carry at least one. Duchesse de Bourgogne, Monk's Cafe, Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge. All haven't been much trouble to find, all refreshing.

[–]heartbeats 0 points1 point ago

Three Floyds Pride and Joy. It's a very drinkable session beer, but still retains a formidable hop profile and is complex enough to keep me interested all the way through.

[–]shopshopshop 1 point2 points ago

Anchor Liberty Ale.

[–]rharrison 0 points1 point ago

i'm still stuck on shiner bock, haven't found anything that's as widely available, as cheap, or as drinkable. for a while i was getting st. pauli girl pretty often

[–]okron1k 0 points1 point ago

steam whistle is a favourite of mine.

[–]The_Kool_Kiddo 0 points1 point ago

Allagash Black or a Saint Arnold Summer Pilsner when in season.

[–]shweatty 0 points1 point ago

Sweaty Betty. Bam ba lam.

[–]PAULisLIVE 0 points1 point ago

Shiner Bock and availability is a huge factor. You can find that anywhere in this state.

[–]lolspeak 0 points1 point ago

Spotted Cow, Fat Tire, or Franziskaner

[–]Shandd 0 points1 point ago

I could drink Raging Bitch everyday and I wouldn't dare to complain

[–]aossey 0 points1 point ago

Columbus Brewing Company IPA. If I ever move away from this city I will miss it more than anything else.

[–]wild9 0 points1 point ago

Austin Beerworks Peacemaker pale ale and/or Left Hand Milk Stout

[–]BeardToast 0 points1 point ago

I am a huge IPA fan but I have to say my #1 go to no matter what beer has to be Sweet Water 420 blend. No, not because of the "420", but because it's the best damn pale ale I've had.

[–]hornytoad69 0 points1 point ago

Flying Dog Raging Bitch. A great local, full of flavor. Boy, is it raging though.

[–]bearcules 0 points1 point ago

St.Arnolds Lawnmower has been my go to favorite for the last 3 years since I first tried.

[–]DrMrProfessor 1 point2 points ago

DFH 60 for the hop, Sly Fox Helles for the smooth.

[–]AppaYipYip 1 point2 points ago

for me its a Surly Furious

[–]EbonPinion 0 points1 point ago

Mock if you will, I will never say no to a Holy Grail Ale.

[–]dragsys 1 point2 points ago

Depends on my financial situation at the time I'm buying.

  • If I'm nearly broke, Foster's Ale in a can (green, not blue)
  • If I'm not so bad off, Tap room No21 Wheat
  • If I'm doing good, Guinness (either Draught or Foreign Extra)
  • And if I feel like blowing $20, I fill a random six-pack with singles from Total Wine.

[–]tbe170 1 point2 points ago

Abbot Ale fresh from the tap. I haven't had a beer top it since I tried my first pint of it.

[–]Forensicator 0 points1 point ago

Guinness. It's never my top fave, but damn, it's never bad. I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking for something to replace it, though. Ranger IPA is the current candidate, after Sierra Nevada Pale Ale let me down (usually good, but every now and then, I just want nothing to do with it).

[–]TheJollyLlama875 0 points1 point ago

La Chouffe. I think it's great, but I don't see a lot of people talking about it ever. Still, whenever I find myself shopping, I always go "Well, I could get something new... or I could get La Chouffe."

And for some reason, I get the best mellow buzz off the sweet Belgian Golden ales.

[–]d_r0ck 1 point2 points ago

I would be remiss if I didn't mention Shocktop Belgian White

[–]idrawinmargins 0 points1 point ago

Rouge Yellow Snow. 1st time I found it, it was in a 64 chalice, or growler.

[–]ArcaneShrine 0 points1 point ago

I'm [f]airly new to craft beers, but after initially worrying that I wouldn't like bitter, hoppy beers, I've seen the light. My go-to is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Torpedo.
