My wife has me by the balls when it comes to drinking beer outside of Friday and Saturday. So I am using the game 7 of the NBA finals as an excuse to have a few Inverson IPAs on a Thursday. Feels good. Oh yeah, welcome!

I went to a live show...San Jose Music in the Park and paid a ridiculous $6 per plastic 12oz cup of XX(dos equis) dark lager. But I ran into some old friends and got to hear the Skatalites so I can't complain too much.

I've yet to try that only because the opportunity has yet to present it's self. I guess I just gotta make the effort though. I have a tasting I'm going to in a couple of days and I was thinking about trying this and maybe getting a couple of brave souls to join me. Any suggestions on what to try?

I tend to favor pale ales, IPA's, and I'm not sure exactly what type Old Specked Hen is, but I really enjoy that.

You are in one of the best beer locations in the world, my friend. Breweries to check out:

Lagunitas, Russian River, Raccoon Lodge/Cascade Brewing (Not sure if they distribute to CA, they are out of Oregon I believe), Bear Republic, Stone, The Bruery, Ballast Point, The Lost Abbey, Firestone Walker

The rest of those are all CA breweries. Obviously there are lots of other great breweries outside of CA, too, but you have a nice selection to choose from.
