I can't seem to find any details other than a VOIP fix. Was that it?

Something else small was done with flares. Dont know why they even bothered adding this in.

Whoa, those are actually fairly significant gameplay changes. That should make it much easier to shoot down air vehicles as most people deploy their flares before a missile is even launched and it takes a long time to reaquire a lock. Also, it sucked that people can mortar you from areas where you can't reach them. Thanks for the info.

The mortars thing sucks, I used it if we were getting base raped, to try to clear a smoke path out, or at least kill enemies when there's nothing else you can do.

Finally! I've got 8 flag defender ribbons, 45 flag attackers, 19 m-com attackers but ZERO m-com defender ribbons, after playing 500 rounds of each rush and conquest.

Lol, Flag Attacker and Defender Ribbons aren't hard to get. Play large maps with instant vehicle spawn on and drive around in a tank capturing flags is the best way to get Attacker Ribbons. For Defender Ribbons, play Grand Bazaar or Metro Conquest and just camp at flags fighting enemies in CQB.

That's the point. The m-com defender ribbon should be just as easy to get but it most certainly is not at the moment. After the patch hopefully it will be as easy to get as the other ribbons.

None of this has been confirmed by DICE to be contained in this patch. The official word is that this is only a VOIP fix.

Thylander's tweets refer to the "next patch" on Feb 4th but this patch was submitted for validation weeks ago, meaning that the discussed changes will be arriving in late February or early March.

I'm still searching for what exactly was in the patch too, but I've heard (and hope it's true) that there was a shotgun frag-round nerf as well...at least for the consoles

So do you think that patch already has been implemented? Does your console download anything before the game start? I'm not sure if it's a client patch or only patch implemented on BF servers side only, in order to provide better data flow, thus VOIP would work better. What do you think? Funny thing is, yesterday I noticed that it looked like voice communication is working, as I had to mute my squad as some idiot was playing music at loud...

I would like some people to verify and test that the VOIP fix is in place and working. Server loads should peak later tonight, when the fix can truly be tested.

Still, for those who have downloaded the patch, is anyone still experiencing the stuttering/cutting out/complete muting of players over VOIP as we've seen before?

God please stop over-regulating the game!!!

Take the out of bounds areas away for most maps. Just let it be a big square. OK with the uncaps but if you just join team whose shit is being pushed in and you are cornered in your uncap, you should be able to deploy mortars.
