If it's a stereo cable, you'll get stereo sound.

You can buy mono 3.5mm male-to-male cables, which would result in a mono signal at output, but as long as you stick with stereo cables, you should be good.

.. What amp? Is the cable a mono 3.5mm? How many bands does it have?

The function is the same for 1/4" and 3.5mm and 2.5mm.

Ah but in Pro Audio a 1/4" TRS can also be used for balanced mono so this isn't always true. Yes the cable is stereo, but it depends on what you plug it into.
