Is it just me, or is this comment thread starting to sound like The Hulk talking to Bizarro?

"preach or correct". That's an interesting way of putting it.

I think it is quite reasonable to point out how offensive a religious person's beliefs are when they are applied to non-believers ... and if someone believes that non-believers deserve to suffer for all eternity in hell, that is pretty offensive when you think about it

I replied on this yesterday.

Most people don't even realize it until you throw it in their face and force them to confront the idea that they are perfectly happy to see anyone outside of their in-group tortured.

Vile, just plain vile.

When I talk to Christians about their beliefs, one of the first things I ask them is what they believe regarding heaven and hell ... if they believe we all go to heaven, I usually have no further questions :)

"Your daughter put my dick in her mouth."

Argument winner right there.

There is nothing christian about love or forgiveness. Sure, they like those things, or claim to. But its not like they invented them or have any monopoly on them.

That's fairly well put.

Honestly, I don't offend easy, but I am a quite offended that you seem to think I am deserving of this punishment (and [redacted], my kids, and 65% of humans), just for not buying into the mythos of the ancient Jews. So, I'm sorry if some or all of this came off as a bit harsh, but c'mon, you just essentially told me I deserve an eternity of torment without providing any crime I've committed, only that you want this scenario to be true so you get to go to heaven while the rest of us heathens burn in unimaginable agony. If there's any reason to take the gloves off, that should do it.
