In any case, for future reference, just use the socratic method of asking questions the whole time. You don't have to take a stance, they just have to defend theirs.

If you were calm, polite, and spoke your mind you were totally right. I've had these types of conversations before, but if someone says something as asinine as "Going to college will do that to you!" there is no point in trying to have a rational conversation.

Nothing you can do now so shrug it off. If anything comes up about it, then simply deny everything as if they are horrible mudslingers being paid by Bin Laden.

A good test is to ask "If I could show you proof that god doesn't exist, would you continue to believe because of faith?"

If the answer is yes, don't even try.

If the latter, then in all honesty, somebody professional should take a look at him and see if everything's okay or if there might be a problem in the future.

Easiest way of dealing with this, if someone asks about it, simply say "Yep, thats how Mormons view everyone thats not of their faith." and leave it at that.

Personally, I'd strip down to the nude and answer the door for mormons, and jehova's witnesses, if it weren't so much fun screwing with them.

Those people came to your home and invaded your privacy! You can say anything you want to them. Including, " I have a rifle and I will use it"!

The next time they knock on your door just inform them that interrupted your prayer time and send them to a neighbor you don't like very much. They will go away quickly.

Don't pick a fight. Just say "I'm not interested". If they ask if they can come back later, just say "no" or "that won't be necessary".

Decide what is most important. Try to understand the consequences of your actions. Those will guide your future actions and help you to be confident in your decisions.
