TheSoapboxRevolution.Bandcamp.com

It's rock and punk in a blender.

[–]serviceenginesoon[S] 2 points3 points ago

nice. Strong guitar sound there.

[–]expreshion 0 points1 point ago

play my basement?

[–]absentas 3 points4 points ago

My old band Valence is still kicking. You can check out some recordings from when I was in it here. The 30ish min one has me in it. It's prog rock/metal, which explains the 30+ min song with no improv sections. It's pretty good though, promise!

[–]infiniteninjas 3 points4 points ago

Prog punk. Mathy too.

Digging this!

[–]infiniteninjas 0 points1 point ago

Gracias.

[–]sako36 1 point2 points ago

Love it. Come to Windsor Ontario and play Phog.

[–]infiniteninjas 0 points1 point ago

I don't play in the band anymore, but it lives on with some new members. Here's my band now, quite a bit poppier: http://pollensmusic.com/

[–]infiniteninjas 0 points1 point ago

For some reason I thought Reddit would appreciate X-Ray Press a little more than Pollens. Maybe I'm wrong, what do you guys think?

[–]SolomonKull -1 points0 points ago

I feel no punk in this music.

[–]infiniteninjas 0 points1 point ago

Ever heard Disturbed? The Shape of Punk to Come? How about Deer Hunter? They call themselves "ambient punk." The word is broad these days.

[–]SolomonKull -3 points-2 points ago

The word may be broad, but punk is punk and this shit has absolutely nothing to do with punk music, punk culture or punk ethics. The fact that you're dumb enough to call Disturbed a punk band just shows how fucking stupid you really are. If they call themselves punk, that just shows how fucking stupid they are.

[–]infiniteninjas 1 point2 points ago

Whoa dude. Whoa.

[–]infiniteninjas 1 point2 points ago

Oh, I see. You're a troll. Sorry to waste my time.

[–]SolomonKull -3 points-2 points ago

Not a troll, just been a punk longer than you've been alive, probably.

[–]infiniteninjas 1 point2 points ago

You spelled "dickhead" wrong, brosephine.

[–]four_chambers 2 points3 points ago

My old punk band's four song EP. We would always end shows with these songs, and they made for a pretty intense capper.

[–]broon 2 points3 points ago

Our first EP, released a few months ago. There's a live set up on there too.

[–]officeroffkilter 2 points3 points ago

Upvotes. Reminded me of things I really like in No Means No and King Crimson.

[–]broon 1 point2 points ago

Thanks. Haven't heard any No Means No, but I'll check them out.

ghost box orchestra

We're working on our second record for spring release.

[–]infiniteninjas 1 point2 points ago

Hey, I think I played a show with you guys in April. I did a US tour with this band The Curious Mystery. Right?

[–]dennisn 1 point2 points ago

Yeah! Out in Northampton, Mass and then again at Deep Heaven in Somerville. Heard the Mystery is coming back east this spring.

[–]infiniteninjas 0 points1 point ago

Good times. I'm not with them anymore, but things are happening for that band. They get press for every show in Seattle now.

[–]MinervaDreaming 2 points3 points ago

Here you go.

Pictures in Sound

[–]VapeApe 3 points4 points ago

My band Bloody Knives. We're about to release a new album as well.

[–]SolomonKull -4 points-3 points ago

I was interested until the vocals started. What the fuck?

[–]VapeApe 0 points1 point ago

The content or the style? Either way not the nicest response ever. The former being somehow better than the latter.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Needs more vocal melody.

[–]VapeApe -4 points-3 points ago

Thanks I'll totally keep that in mind when we're writing. Some guy on the internet say's we need more vocal melody. I'll file that with you need a horn section, and you need to scream more.

Rude....

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

You're reply was certainly more rude than my suggestion. Just bein' honest. I like it, there's just no variation. and the sample song that was there repeated the same vocal notes throughout the entire song with no change.

[–]VapeApe 0 points1 point ago

You caught me at a bad time yesterday, sorry. I had to get high and really think about what you said compared to what I imagined the implied slight was. I decided just like anything you're entitled to your opinion, it was just like a slap in the face being told you suck.

I agree that I probably overreacted, because I tend to overreact. I'm sure you're not a venomous asshole. Or if you are one that you're at least a funny venomous asshole in real life.

It's hard sometimes putting your music out there is the lesson I'm taking from this exchange. Though one would think I'd learned this many years ago, there are occasional reminders of how aggravating it can be.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Hey i didn't say it was bad. Definitely good stuff! Keep it up and you'll go far ;)

[–]VapeApe 0 points1 point ago

Wait..... I don't think you're the guy I argued with yesterday..... Disregard last reply.

[–]SicTim 1 point2 points ago

My Soundclick page here. A lot of guitar-oriented stuff.

Its mostly psychedelic acoustic stuff with one or two exceptions, like Essence.

[–]DavidJMurphy 1 point2 points ago

http://davidjmurphy.bandcamp.com/ :) .. my 2004 album's production isn't really up to par but if you like old Soundgarden you might be into it.. I have an acoustic EP on there and a film soundtrack. I'm rehearsing for my 2nd album now and the production is a billion times better

[–]shecky 1 point2 points ago

Doesn't get more guitar driven than surf rock: http://soundcloud.com/tomorrowmen/requiem-for-a-tomorrowman

[–]alijohnstone 1 point2 points ago

The Internauts

All pretty guitar-driven pop-punk.

[–]liamse 1 point2 points ago

This track was done right before Hurricane Irene with live drums, lofi vocals, a vibraphone, and an array of keyboards put into pedals.

Guitar-driven but with one electronic track.

[–]sapienshane 0 points1 point ago

The Death Medicine Band

Kinda all over the place in blues, punk, and noise rock. We trade instruments a lot. Makes for a varied approach. Thanks!

[–]officeroffkilter 0 points1 point ago

Apologies for having nothing more than myspace.

There are a lot of driving rhythms, particularly between guitar and bass.

an okay thing my band put together a year or so ago. we've matured musically since then, but it's definitely not bad http://thegentlemenelectric.bandcamp.com/album/melloyellodramatic

It's certainly guitar-driven, though maybe not as hard as you might be looking for.
