Where do Devil Fruits come from exactly?

Biggest theory on them is there's an island that hasn't been found, for whatever reasons, that has the trees that the Devil Fruits grow on, and once one is grown and ready to be eaten, it falls off and lands in the ocean and is carried away by the currents to wherever. Or it's just one tree that grows all the fruits and same thing happens, once one if fully grown it falls off and is carried away by the ocean.

Another theory is the island is in the sky, and that's why nobody has found it.

We'll found out sooner or later though. Vegapunk knows the most about them and there's no way we won't be introduced to him.

I really liked the theory that there's a small sky island with a tree on it, and when they're ripe, they just kinda fall off into the sea below. Raftel is probably the more likely answer.

Not really sure, though I've wondered the same thing before. They might explain it eventually. My best guess is that there was once a place that had all the DF in one place (that allowed people to write a book listing all the DFs) and they somehow scattered across the seas, kinda like Dragon Balls I guess.

While I really have no idea where they come from, although I do like the sky island idea that was mentioned, the question that has always bothered me is: If there is only one fruit for any given devil fruit ability, how then have the devil fruits not become extinct? The best answer I've been able to come up with is that maybe when a DF user dies, his/her fruit reappears, wherever that might happen. This would also allow for the existence of the DF catalog that we have seen. And, in my crazy improbable fantasy world, allows for the possibility that Gol D Roger was a rubber man just like Luffy.

this is just a theory but it is plausible that Raftel is the birthplace of all devil fruits and "One piece" is the source for them all, i mean the devil fruit theme of this show is so hidden that its just as mysterious as "One piece" so its plausible that they are one in the same.
