I'll let Reese decide all this, the man clearly knows what he's doing.

[–]nielish 2 points3 points ago

I agree! I was furious to see Kevin Boss and Steve Smith gone. But who knew a few months later we would win the whole thing.

WE MUST KEEP WEATHERFORD.

[–]UndeadBelaLugosi 0 points1 point ago

A thousand times this!

I believe we have to go after Manningham, McKenzie, Ballard and Weatherford. Our secondary takes a beating to free agency. Giants have to resign Ross and/or thomas. If not, they have to sign either Grimes, Rodgers, Carr or Finnegan. Don't really need a RB, but I wouldn't mind getting Forte or Rice. Plax is a free agent and knows the system so maybe reunion time? Oh and just imagine if Desean Jackson or Vincent Jackson joins up with Eli?

[–]jacobrossk 5 points6 points ago

I want to keep Pascoe. He's pretty reliable if everyone else is covered.

[–]brettvirmalo 5 points6 points ago

There is no way this team signs a big name WR or RB free agent. We just don't do that, and personally, I like it that way.

[–]optimism 2 points3 points ago

No fuck those receivers. Eli is great and our wideouts are good with Nicks and Cruz. I'd rather have a more playmaking TE or just focus on D. We don't need headcases in a locker room where there are no finger pointing.

[–]tootie 0 points1 point ago

DeSean is overrated. He disappeared this year and had a bad attitude about it. The best part of our current receiving corps is their low-key personas. Also, I think it's fair to say that Eli elevates his receivers much than they elevate him. Manningham will not flourish without a top QB.

PLEASE I do not want Plax. He can stay out of the Giants. Same with Desean Jackson, I hate him too.

[–]GFPyro 0 points1 point ago

McKenzie is awful that fat fuck can't pick up any blocks its to time to drop him and get some fresh talent.

[–]twerp78 0 points1 point ago

Bout time he moves on.

I say we let Manningham go. He was a hero yesterday and will command a high price in free agency, but he really makes a lot of mistakes and is clearly our #3. We'll have Hixon back and also Jernigan will probably get a good tryout in the preseason to compete for the slot position. The QB makes the receiver, not the other way.

Our secondary is a problem. It was our weak spot, so I'm inclined to let some people go and rebuild. I like Grant and Thomas, but who know what we'll get from him coming off a busted knee. Would love to get a hold of Carlos Rodgers, but he will be a hot commodity.

Weatherford should come back. Pay him whatever you have to. Blackburn too. That guy is a champ.

The other wildcard is Osi. He is likely to demand an extension again or ask for a trade. I love him, but he will probably go for a first or second round pick. If he goes, we should resign Tollefson.

Our tight ends were pretty inconsistent. I think Pascoe is more of a priority than Ballard who was injured a lot and had some big drops. I wouldn't go after Finley though. He is inconsistent and some team is going to offer him too much money.

[–]out_of_time 0 points1 point ago

Hixon will not be back. 2 games played in two years. And yet you're worried about Thomas' knee?

[–]tootie 0 points1 point ago

I didn't realize that was two years in a row that he'd been out. Same knee both times. You're right, he's probably done. We'll see what happens there. I think they give Jernigan a good long look and/or draft someone. If they don't retain Manningham, they won't go for a big FA.

[–]out_of_time 1 point2 points ago

That's a scary list. Instead of jumping on our side of it what I would really like to see is for the Giants to go after Carl Nicks and Jermichael Finley. They'll be too expensive though. Ah fuck it...have fun Reese!!!

[–]shahmoney 1 point2 points ago

Who we need to keep: WR-Mario Manningham-25 years old OR WR-Devin Thomas-25 years old

TE-Bear Pascoe-25 years old (I find him more reliable than Ballard. Ballard has heart, I give it to him, but has too many dropped passes)

DT-Rocky Bernard-32 years old

LB-Chase Blackburn-28 years old (he may not be the biggest, nor the fastest, but he is always there where he needs to be. He makes great plays and proved himself this season. If we hold on to him, we won't need Goff)

LB-Jonathan Goff-26 years old

CB-Aaron Ross-29 years old CB-Terrell Thomas-27 years old (We need both of these CB. Amakumara will do great, but our secondary will need guys like these).

P-Steve Weatherford-29 years old (DON'T YOU DARE LET THIS GUY GO!! he is the unsung hero of the Giants. He helped give us an edge when we need it the most.)

[–]mombolpf 4 points5 points ago

I really hope Terrell Thomas recovers OK. I would prefer him to Ross. Before the injury he was arguably their best CB.

[–]nielish 1 point2 points ago

I think as a result of the TE injuries last night; we need to take the best TE available in round one or two. If we take one in round one, we will probably have the best or second best TE in the draft. Loves the kid out of Georgia and Clemson. Oh, if we could steal Finley .... that would be perfection!

[–]mombolpf 1 point2 points ago

I've also seen a few mocks say Coby Fleener from Stanford. I would cool with that as well

[–]UndeadBelaLugosi 1 point2 points ago

I rather draft than pick up Finley. I am not impressed with his hands for what he would want in the way of a contract.

[–]nielish 1 point2 points ago

Good point about his hands

[–]Skyless 1 point2 points ago

In a recent interview, Finley has blamed the Packers D for losing the divisional playoff game. So not only does he have shitty hands, he's a shitty teammate. Locker room cancer.

Yeah I hope we pick up a TE with the 32nd pick.

[–]nielish 0 points1 point ago

Off of the list form above, I really hope the following players are back in NYG blue next year: QB-David Carr-32 years old WR-Mario Manningham-25 years old TE-Bear Pascoe-25 years old OT-Kareem McKenzie-32 years old DT-Rocky Bernard-32 years old DE-Dave Tollefson-29 years old LB-Chase Blackburn-28 years old CB-Aaron Ross-29 years old CB-Terrell Thomas-27 years old P-Steve Weatherford-29 years old

[–]UndeadBelaLugosi 0 points1 point ago

Why Kareem? He's been solid up until this year, but he looks like he played one year past his ability. Edge rushers killed us on the right side this season.

[–]kooredaan 1 point2 points ago

Hopefully the Giants keep TT and Goff. Yes they were injured, but injuries where each can come back from and still play at a high level. A full off season for the Prince and keeping Thomas, Goff (plus Blackburn, Grant?, and Tollefson?) the defense should be good next year.

A secondary of Webster, Thomas, Prince, Phillips, Rolle, Grant/Ross) should be very good with the D-line coming back.

I love Kiwi, but I'm not sure he has a place in this defense. Doubt the Giants trade him though.

Anyway, I do like how the Giants build through the draft for the most part, so I'm fine with that. A little more depth on the OL, LB, and RB would be good.

[–]out_of_time 0 points1 point ago

Kiwi has a place, it's with his hand in the grass at DE. And with the development of our young LB's plus the return and resigning of Goff and Blackburn, he'll be back on the line. Which may mean that Osi will finally get his wish. I'll be sad to see him go but glad to finally stop hearing about his off season drama.

[–]captain_pineapples 1 point2 points ago

Weatherford and Blackburn are probably the only locks to be re-signed. I love Super Mario but fear someone will grossly overpay for him.

[–]unspokenfor 0 points1 point ago

I would like to see Ross/Grant come back. Grant is a bit old, but he is a good presence on the field. Terrell Thomas I feel should get a contract, still is a great corner. Weatherford must come back.

[–]out_of_time 0 points1 point ago

I'd say that Demetrius Bell, who didn't make your list, would be the best sign the Giants could make this off season. In terms of an immediate upgrade, it would actually upgrade 2 or 3 line spots, in a round about way.
