Wow, that looks like it'll work perfectly. The white LED's on there even have consumer pictures of exactly how I'll use them.

We bought some cheap ones at wallmart--by cheap I mean made in China cheap (and price-wise too). You can take individual lights off the string and snap them back on where desired. You'll prolly want to use black electrical tape either way.

Best way to do this would actually be with that LED rope stuff with black felt or similar material laid below it with holes poked into it.

You could also do this with "runner" christmas lights (a LOT of them) to get a "twinkling" effect.
