Once, it seemed the bus had passed the line, but JJ jumped out and pushed it back.

[–]The UFreakAndGeek 56 points57 points ago

When Musburger exclaimed, "Can he get to the fifty?!" I absolutely lost it.

[–]Michiganboost2525 22 points23 points ago

That will be on "the youtube" later.

[–]virginia techSleepyEel 7 points8 points ago

I cringed when he said that

[–]Texasflagamuffin 7 points8 points ago

I cringe when he says anything. So I was already in the process of cringing.

[–]CallTheOptimist 15 points16 points ago

Musberger was fucking obsessed with calling tyrann mathieu honey badger. Every single opportunity, and he said it like he wanted to blow him after

[–]Ohio Stateexcoriator -2 points-1 points ago

There is a whole /r/cfb thread devoted to this.

[–]Lsuskandalouslsu 52 points53 points ago

I laughed pretty hard, as did the rest of my office when I told it to them. Thanks for the joke to lift our spirits.

[–]ohio stateJustifiedTrueBelief 26 points27 points ago

It gets better.

[–]Clemsonpeanut140 17 points18 points ago

promise?

[–]ohio stateJustifiedTrueBelief 67 points68 points ago

No.

[–]MichiganScotthany 5 points6 points ago

I am upvoting this so hard. I don't care how wrong it is.

[–]CLEMSONStuppyhead -1 points0 points ago

At least we don't go to Penn St.

[–]Lsurcaraw1 35 points36 points ago

=( If we go 1-11 next year, that one win better be against Bama.

[–]_TURbo 32 points33 points ago

LSU should be out for revengence for next years game.

[–]alabamadunno260 61 points62 points ago

Thats not a word, but it should be.

[–]arkansaseinmalistkeinmal 56 points57 points ago

Revenge: re·venge/riˈvenj/

Noun: The action of inflicting hurt or harm on someone for a wrong suffered at their hands.

Vengeance: venge·ance/ˈvenjəns/

Noun: Punishment inflicted or retribution exacted for an injury or wrong.

I believe the combination of the two words indicates that the injustice has come from an official entity, implicitly more important or powerful than the arbiter of revengeance.

Revengeance re·venge·ance/riˈvenj'əns

Noun: Punishment inflicted, harm brought upon, and/or retribution exacted for an injustice suffered at the hands of an entity that is not within the arbiter's normal realm of control.[[superpowers]]

Example - The redditors brought revengeance down upon the SOPA sponsors.

[–]zeroes0 7 points8 points ago

Then the redditors saw the link to a cats meme and then completely forgot to vote on election day...

[–]Georgiacmdrcaboose2 1 point2 points ago

Most. Awesome. Word. Ever.

[–]Notre Damebored-now -4 points-3 points ago

That's awesome - Had to send you to "best of"

[–]AlabamaNeonxeon 19 points20 points ago

We are going to get curb stomped in BR next year.

[–]Lsurcaraw1 35 points36 points ago

As much as I'd like to believe this, you can't underestimate the Saban. What I saw last night was a Bama team that completely smoothed out ALL of the problems that allowed LSU to win the first matchup (the option, poor kicking, poor throwing). Saban is a coaching genius.

[–]alabamaFells 6 points7 points ago

It's going to be a serious game no matter which way it goes. I can't wait for November the third.

[–]AlabamaJdoubleE5000 6 points7 points ago

Miles will have an extra week of prep in '12. LSU has a BYE week prior to the Bama game, whereas Bama does not.

[–]MichiganSupport_HOOP 28 points29 points ago

Because he did so well with all the time he had to prepare for this game

[–]RobbStark 6 points7 points ago

There's a big difference between having an extra week (which your opponent doesn't get) to prepare in the middle of the season vs. 3-4 weeks that is filled with distractions and that your opponent also gets.

[–]AlabamaJdoubleE5000 9 points10 points ago

Saban had 44 days to prepare for LSU. He has the rest of winter, and the entirety of spring and summer to prepare for Michigan... I hope to be there.

[–]michigandebotehzombie 11 points12 points ago

That game doesn't exist to me. I just force myself to believe we start the season a week late with an 0-1 record.

[–]ua412 1 point2 points ago

Typically we are very good in these type of games. First game of the year and against OOC opponents that is. I really like Michigan's team though. We need to get some payback for that '99 Orange Bowl.

Fun game to watch, but fuck our kickers. Alexander, Terrell, and Brady went off in that game.

[–]MichiganGuyDressedAsATurtle 0 points1 point ago

Unfortunately I don't see us coming close, especially after the debacle in the Sugar Bowl. We literally have no depth in either our offensive or defensive line because Rodriguez didn't make them a priority... Just hope it's not a blowout :(

[–]AlabamaJdoubleE5000 0 points1 point ago

It definitely should be an interesting game:

a) Alabama will have lost a LARGE majority of its defense (i.e. ~8 starters), and Hoke made it evident that he knows how to run a balanced offense.

b) Saban got his HC start at Michigan St, and one of his assistants, and friends, is still their HC. I have no idea how strong his links are with MSU still, but I wouldn't be surprised if he held this game in high regard.

Furthermore, this game is of tantamount importance to both coaches as it gives them a nation-wide stage with which to share their wares with potential recruits.

As it stands, Bama looks to be losing approximately 5-6 on offense, as well. However, we will return 4 out of 5 of our offensive linemen, including the 2011 Outland Trophy winner.

I expect a good game, but perhaps you could speak on the attrition that Michigan will suffer on both sides of the ball.

[–]ripripripriprip 1 point2 points ago

Jefferson couldn't properly execute the option last night whatsoever.

[–]AlabamaNeonxeon 1 point2 points ago

We might be seeing one of the next historical coaching duels in college football history. Like Woody and Bo, as well as Bear and Paterno, this could be two coaches trading off win after win. This makes me really excited to watch the game at this point in time.

[–]Lsurcaraw1 0 points1 point ago

agreed. And maybe next year the winner will be lucky enough to knock the other out of the #2 spot ><

[–]Washington StateTuckason 0 points1 point ago

The Miami Dolphins would like to have a talk with you about your coaching "genius."

[–]lsupponso1 15 points16 points ago

curb stomped in BR

No you won't. We're getting rid of Jefferson and Bama isn't a rowdy Marine at a bar.

[–]lsuAJfromLA 4 points5 points ago

Ba-ZING!

[–]Ohio Stateuid007 16 points17 points ago

TIL Alabama and LSU fans can be civil after a NCG. Kudos to all of you

[–]AlabamaNeonxeon 16 points17 points ago

Well that's only because Alabama won. Do you really think this place would have shut the fuck up if Bama had lost. People were chomping at the bit to hate us some more. We're happy we won and no one can say a damn word about it.

[–]Ohio Stateuid007 9 points10 points ago

The LSU fans are pretty gracious even after a tough loss. That's what really caught me by surprise.

[–]AlabamaNeonxeon 8 points9 points ago

Well, we also have the advent of being on an internet message board (that isn't some homer jerk off fest) where you likely have a better user base than most.

[–]Texas A&Mtamuowen 6 points7 points ago

True, I think that /r/cfb does have a much better user base than most message boards. But you probably realize better than most that this loss was about as crushing of a defeat as they come. Not just the margin of victory - LSU was being talked about as one of the greatest football teams ever before this loss. That has to be tough to handle, and most LSU fans just adopted a "fuck it, let's get drunk. Good season" attitude.

Which is probably the appropriate way to remember it - they still had an absolutely tremendous year.

[–]Lsurcaraw1 12 points13 points ago

LSU fans just adopted a "fuck it, let's get drunk. Good season" attitude.

On Reddit. I was down near the Dome for the game, most LSU fans wanted to fight someone.

[–]alabamakttice 4 points5 points ago

I was as well and I sobered up quick to make it home. I made sure to only "roll tide" Alabama fans because it was pretty damn hostile. A guy in our group got put in a chokehold and hit in his mouth and stomach a few times. I wasn't about to prove I bled crimson too.

[–]alabamajackdanielsliver 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, I was down there as well. I accidentally caught eye contact with one guy who screamed at me and started moving towards me, luckily I calmed him down with "I don't talk trash". Luckily it had cleared out a good bit when the game was over.

[–]ripripripriprip 0 points1 point ago

LSU needs a quarterback before they can even dream of being in that caliber. And this is coming from an LSU fan.

[–]Texas A&Mtamuowen 2 points3 points ago

I agree - but Jarrett Lee might have been good enough to win them that game. I know I'm not the first person to suggest that.

If Mettenberger pans out or Gunner Kiel can show off some good stuff ya'll could be scary good next year

[–]ripripripriprip 0 points1 point ago

Lee just seems to choke under pressure. We need a first round draft pick caliber QB. Then we would be scary.

[–]Washington StateTrogdorDaBurninator 0 points1 point ago

I'm not sure about LSU, but here we have a saying "Win or lose, Cougs booze."Seeing as we don't win that often its probably the best frame of mind, and I strongly reccommend it.

[–]ripripripriprip 4 points5 points ago

And Alabama definitively won. Hands down played a better game. No bad calls, no excuses, just flat out played a better game.

[–]ALABAMAWhatArePooping 0 points1 point ago

they coo they coo

[–]iowa stateechosia 2 points3 points ago

You're welcome.

[–]mimmotoast 3 points4 points ago

As SEC fans go they're pretty civil. Don't get me started on Georgia and UT fans. I'm a Gator fan and I'm sure we bother people too

[–]tennesseeKallor 3 points4 points ago

Woah woah woah, why the hate bro?

[–]Florida StateRaiseTheBarr 2 points3 points ago

No way man, I felt right at home in the swamp this year. /sarcasm

[–]Georgiacounterweight22 0 points1 point ago

We have an excuse. Our team consistently disappoints the shit out of us by giving the illusion of a decent year only to screw everything up at the end.

[–]ua412 0 points1 point ago

They were pretty good to us after the game. Maybe three or four people said anything negative to me on Bourbon. They all pretty much said "yeah you just kicked our ass"

[–]Virginia TechGolden_Kumquat 4 points5 points ago

HUEHUEHUEHUEHUE

Wait, wrong BR.

[–]alabamaGaz133 2 points3 points ago

I wouldn't count on that. It depends how quickly the defense gels as that's where a lot of starters are leaving from. Having Barrett Jones come back though is huge, plus McCarron will continue to grow and the young receivers will get better, and we'll have Duron Carter. Replacing Hightower, Upshaw, etc. will be tough but the amount of blue chippers coming through plus guys who already have experience like Nico Johnson, CJ Mosely, etc. should help that immensely. No need to panic as yet.

[–]Ohio Stateuid007 1 point2 points ago

Let's hope Duron has figured out how to keep his head in the game and his grades up. I was looking for him to do big things at OSU. Oh well.

[–]alabamaAthenaQ 16 points17 points ago

LSU is going to be ridiculously good next year. Preseason rankings should have them #1, Bama #2, and USC #3.

[–]Lsurcaraw1 12 points13 points ago

I know, as much as I FUCKING HATE JEFFERSON, I can be thankful he is gone, and we have a line of QBs to set us up for the next four years at least (Philip Rivers younger brother, woo).

[–]Vitalstatistix 5 points6 points ago

If you hate Jefferson, why wouldn't you be thankful that he's gone?!

And yes, next year LSU should be better without Jefferson wasting our time.

[–]purduedgahimer 2 points3 points ago

Because you can hate a guy that is still better than the alternative.

[–]zeroes0 4 points5 points ago

Fuck it we're going deep!

[–]UCLAixrs 8 points9 points ago

That sounds horrible, from my terribly biased standpoint.

[–]ohio stateWhoaABlueCar 0 points1 point ago

Their freshman RB is a god damn monster. Can't wait to face him in two years for the NCG!

[–]Arkansastme001 63 points64 points ago

hahahahahahahhahahaa

Cool username bro

[–]LSUNattylight69 -2 points-1 points ago

When we have Mittenberger next year, no one will be able to stop us.

[–]Lsurcaraw1 2 points3 points ago

I will believe it when I see it

[–]Georgiacounterweight22 0 points1 point ago

As long as he doesn't grope any more strangers...

[–]Georgia TechSouthlandScion 24 points25 points ago

This just in: Les Miles is pitching for other options but they keep getting tackled by Dont'a Hightower.

[–]theMoonRulesNumber1 -1 points0 points ago

Oh Tech fans...we are so good at making fun of other teams cuz ours is constantly made fun of...I was ecstatic when Travis Bell graduated, only to be intensely disappointed by Ju. Moore

[–]Oregonzoomski 21 points22 points ago

Haha that's a good one

[–]Georgiavashed 25 points26 points ago

Alabama: "I dare you to cross this line!"

LSU: "Nope"

[–]LSUFlakeAzz 2 points3 points ago

i thought for sure Les would've put in Lee in the 2nd half... As much as Lee has done at the beginning of the season, he definately deserved a shot at center. EDIT: Thanks for the laugh...good stuff!!!

[–]lsuLaurzone 5 points6 points ago

Pretty sure you mean under center. Because he's, you know, a quarterback.

[–]LSUFlakeAzz -1 points0 points ago

technically he's over the center...but whatever...

[–]Rutgersgopaloo 9 points10 points ago

Too soon bro.

[–]baylorwild9 0 points1 point ago

This is already making the rounds on my facebook feed. If you created this, ksrchicity, you should be proud of yourself.

[–]ksrchicity[S] 6 points7 points ago

I saw a buddy reference it on FB about LSU but, this has been a joke used for many years, just substitute the 50 yard line for the goal-line.

[–]poopy_mcgee 1 point2 points ago

Also, because of the charming hospitality.

[–]tulanetdetillier 7 points8 points ago

:]

[–]Lsurcaraw1 9 points10 points ago

a small victory for Tulane, hah. My gf went to Tulane and gave me so much shit for this game.

[–]lsujared84lsu 0 points1 point ago

I think I'll stroll over to yogwf.com now...I guarantee they're more excited than the 12-0 year.

[–]purduedgahimer 5 points6 points ago

No, you're just kind of an asshole.

[–]lsujared84lsu 1 point2 points ago*

fair enough: the guy wasn't doing the stereotypical greenie weenie inferiority complex towards LSU, and i made a dick comment.

[–]purduedgahimer 0 points1 point ago

Yeah. I mean, if its a joke thread about your school, you just kind of have to expect that people are going to laugh at it, smile at it, whatever. If you wanna make fun of Purdue, tho, go right ahead. We fuckin' SUCK.

[–]lsujared84lsu 1 point2 points ago

Purdue can go 0-12 for the next 10 years and they get a pass thanks to Drew Brees.

[–]purduedgahimer 0 points1 point ago

I donno. I think we used up our free pass when we tried to play a 2 quarterback system with the option this year and then proceeded to resign our head coach who has a losing record at the school (which I'd be okay with if he showed competence in a single area of the game. He just...doesn't. Clock management, offense, defense...they're all bad.) I appreciate the sentiment though. I am proud of the Purdue players in the NFL. Cliff Avril, Drew Brees, Dustin Keller. They're doing a pretty good job of representing the school. I think we just did the reddit version of kissing and making up.

[–]mainsworth 3 points4 points ago

have you guys managed to win a football game in the year 2012?

edit: truth hurts, doesn't it?

[–]Marshallfedale 2 points3 points ago

Tulane is pretty awful all around

[–]WhimsicalAphorist 2 points3 points ago

Oh, I thought it was because their shame was weighing them down.

[–]Florida StateLACFTW 0 points1 point ago
