Looking at this thread, I suddenly got a rush of nostalgia for a game, but I can't remember what it is. Can anyone help me out?

You're a stick figure with a few guns and some grenades, and you walk/run through a world with other stick figures (some giants) and helicopters and turrets and shit, killing things. Every now and then you get to level up and upgrade a weapon or your health. I think it might've been Japanese.

Random facts: the world's white with black lines for the ground. The ground is either flat or sloped upward or downward at a fixed angle. I think you can shield by pressing down, though, now that I think of it, that may be a faulty memory since that's kinda ridiculous. Double tap arrows to run.

Anyway. That's not my favorite, but I like it a lot. I haven't played it in ages, but if anyone knows what I'm talking about...

motherload - dig for minerals on mars in this little flying miner thing (kind of like moonlander), as you go deeper you get more valuable minerals, which can be sold for money, which you use to buy better equipment that allows you to drill deeper and carry more fuel and minerals. wasted a lot of time on this one. also there is a deluxe version available that lets you save your progress and play offline.
