old one : Three men walk into a hotel and pay £30 for a room (£10 each). A while later, the manager realises he has over-charged them and that the room was only £25, so he sends the porter with the £5 change to the mens' room. You have two pieces of fuse (rope) and a lighter. It takes an hour to burn a fuse if you light an end. However, it does not burn linearly (meaning it could burn through 99% of the fuse in 1 min and the last 1% in 59 mins), and you have no way of determining what it could be.

This riddle is usually credited to Einstein, and sometimes to Lewis Carroll, but there's really no way to tell. There have been several different versions over the years, but this is the one I did. Supposedly only 2% of the world's population can solve this, but I think it's just a matter of patience and tenacity. It's the hardest riddle I've ever solved, but also the most fun. Good luck!
