Zappos.com

I have size 16 feet, so when I go out shopping for shoes, it's less of picking out what I like but more of settling for what fits me. Zappos, however, has a HUGE selection of shoes in my size. That's not why I love them, however.

It's just something about the generally free shipping (that they say will take a week but consistently arrives in 2-3 days), free shipping on all returns (no questions asked), and all of the hoops that customer service is willing to jump through to make sure I'm 100% satisfied. Honestly, shopping there is like going to a shoe store with slightly longer waits; I buy two or three pairs of shoes I think I might like, pick one to keep, and return the other two. And ALL I pay for is the one pair of shoes, no hidden fees or S&H charges to be found.

You know what the name really stands for right? Return Every Item.

This is a company that truly, truly stands behind their products. I bought a headlamp there, and after 6-7 years of regular use, it failed. They looked it up, saw that I had bought it there, and issued a store credit. Prices have fallen in the last 6 years, I bought the replacement and had $17 in credit left. I will often spend a little extra at REI for that kind of service.

Oh yes yes yes. I used to cycle through cheap earbuds after cheap earbuds until I bought a pair of cx300's for 50 bucks. That was three years ago. I believe they're 20-30 now. They are still working even after I accidentally left them in my pants pocket and put them through the washer AND dryer. Crazy huh?

Even better is that they come with 2 spare pairs of the rubber caps so if the originals ever break or come loose, (they never have for me), you can easily replace them! Great product; it's my Christmas present of choice for friends and family.

I had a Kawasaki motorcycle. It was great. It got old, though, and I was fixing it a lot. Then I bought a newer Yamaha motorcycle. It happened to be a lemon, worse than most people's experience with that model, but annoying nevertheless.

The Honda motorcycle owners were telling me, "I don't get it, why are you working on your bike so often? I just change the oil once in a while, and ride the thing."

So this time, I bought a Honda (CBR1100XX). Best damn motorcycle I've ever owned: premium handling and performance, and rock-solid reliability. I can ride to five states away without worry of getting stranded (as the Yamaha did to me twice).

One by one, as we replaced our cars, we bought Hondas. Now we have three in the family.

I stop by to talk to my mechanic once in a while, just to be friendly. I usually only see him for state-mandated inspections, and oil changes.

To be fair, I wouldn't take something back at all that was paid with cash with no receipt, especially at a huge place like Target.

Also, target stores don't suck to be in like some other places to buy things (kmart and jcpenny come to mind). Everything is well-lit and organized sanely.

Been flying southwest for ten plus years and only had my bags delayed once. They even drove it to my house after. WOOT WOOT!!!!

Been buying either Tom's of Maine or Spring Fresh dehodorant for years. I like my shirts to stay the color I bought them

Classic Asics have been making me feel cool for years.

I'm a slave to Chipotle, even though I don't need chipotlaway. $6.50 at chipotle > $6.50 at a fast food place

the Dogfish and Victory brewers have done a spot on job with providing me available, fine quality beer and I can't thank them enough for that.

Mrs. Dash has some of the best, cheap seasonings to spice up my meals.

Heck yes Tom's of Maine deodorant. The lemongrass smells a bit too much like Froot Loops for me, but the apricrot is like a friggin' candle.

Oddly enough, QuikTrip. I'm in GA, and during the gas crisis last year they were the only ones who didn't gouge, kept people out in by the pumps to direct traffic and kick out line cutters, and generally stayed cool. I'll pass by other gas stations even running the risk of getting an empty tank to go to QT.

Also, the taquitos are really good.

Blizzard fanboi here.

I've been pre-ordering everything they've made since WC1. I've never been disappointed. The always put out a quality product and when there are launch issues, it's almost always due to unexpected success and scaling issues.

Toyota just had to recall a whole bunch of cars because of sticky accelerator pedals. Having said that I'm a pretty big fan of Japanese cars. BBC article

Definitely a loyal Amazon customer though. I always check if they have something first before I check other sites.

I also love Embassy Suites - free happy hour, and a tasty omlette made to order to help with my hangover :-)

I have a Select Comfort - very happy with the product - have not yet had to use their customer service.

I'm very happy with my Toyota (I really like the local dealership), but I'm also very happy with my car, and so far very happy with my wife's car.

I love Chipotle.

I'm a big fan of Mountain Dew.

There is a local restaurant in Mechanicsville, Virginia that I'd like to give a shout out to. Riverbound - if you are in or traveling through Mechanicsville, stop in. They have lots of good food, I highly recommend their burgers.

Tivo is an awesome company. They want happy customers, so they will work with you to lower your service rate and will even replace your DVR if it breaks.

American Express has been pretty pleasant to work with as well, though I've only used their corporate cards.

Also, Frito Lay. I got a bag of chips out of the vending machine at work earlier this year, and the processing machine must have been broken the day that bag was produced because all that was in the bag was a large glob of chip-like substance. I called Frito Lay to complain about it (typically I would not, but I was hungry and I only had enough change in my wallet to get one bag). They sent me 3 coupons for free bags of chips up to $4.00 each, and a pre-paid envelope to return the defective bag. Once I mailed that back, they sent me 3 more coupons!

Fool! Food Lion Cheese Crackers taste better and cost $1.50 less! And their 1lb boxes are still 1lb boxes, unlike Cheez-It who decided to decrease the net weight while keeping the box size and appearance the same like I'm not going to notice that shit.

Sir, I respect your opinion, but I must say that I have never eaten your made up-sounding "Food Lion Cheese Crackers." Until I have eaten one of these "crackers", I shall remain a staunch consumer of Cheez-It and Cheez-It accessories.

what's your take on propane?

[–]stab_master_arson 8 points9 points ago*

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Propane, while easier and more efficient, does not trump using charcoal. A steak grilled over charcoal tastes better than one cooked over propane any day and twice on Sunday.

Most of mine are local eateries, I find the service to be much better and the food delicious. Often it's a bit more expensive but well worth it. Also, second on Embassy suites.

EDIT: Oh and Costco and Bed Bath and Beyond because their return policies are incredible. I was in line to return something at BB&B and there was an older couple in front of me who were returning a broken mini crock pot, they didn't have a receipt and told the woman they think they bought it in the mid 70s. The CSR calls a manager and the guy says to give them any current comparable product, seriously, I don't know if it's a policy or he was just being nice but that's what makes customers loyal and probably only cost them $10 or so. I guess this is why they get most of my extra spending money (that and permanent 20% of coupons).

Costco is the shit. They at least acknowledge that they're a soulless megastore, AND they have hot dog and a soda for $1.50. And it's kosher.

I don't even know if this counts because I've only purchased their product once, but I would choose Eastpak (JanSport is also the same company).

I purchased an Eastpak backpack for $52 in 1997. In 2005 an interior wall broke from wear and tear. They mailed me a large pouch which shipped back to their Washington based repair facility for free. It was then repaired for free. In 2009 the zippers finally started jamming up frequently. Again I mailed it back for free. They called and asked me which new backpack I'd like and I went w/the blue model which I use to this day.

I've had my Dakine backpack for eight years and it's still good as new. It's been to school with me everyday through late elementary school, high school, first three years of college so far and I even took it camping every summer in the woods even though it's not an official "camping" bag. We all know how much respect backpacks get but this brand handles it exceptionally well.
