Dare I? It Isn't Always About the Bacon... (skilletdoux.com)

A good BLT requires good bacon, good lettuce, good tomatoes and good bread. If any of the ingredients aren't good it ruins the entire BLT.
Nobody wants poorly cooked [or poorly cured] bacon just as nobody wants soft old tomatoes, soggy brown lettuce with no texture, or rock-hard stale bread that snaps when bent.
(I say nobody does, but you never know, someone might).

I've never had a bad piece of bacon. The worst piece of bacon I've ever eaten was pretty damn good. Tomatoes, on the other hand, can be very good or very bad and the whole range in between.
This is why there is /r/bacon but not /r/tomatoes
